And then it died of heat stroke when my mom put it outside in the summer because it smelled. And its name was Phoenix. Thus the cruelly ironic metaphor, you see. ;-)

And anyway, today's 'emo' has almost nothing to do with it was once was. I like emo, just not the stuff that has anything to do with today's really fashion obsessed pop punk 'emo' crap. So I prefer to call 'emo' kids scene kids, because technically I could be an emo kid anyway, since I listen to emo.

Well I was trying to be funny, so at least I'm doing something right. ;-)
I did actually write a humorous poem about killing mold for an English class and then used it as my lol, funny segment on all my college applications because I'm lazy. And then for a creative writing class in college I wrote a free verse poem using my pet hamster as a metaphor for the human condition.
Speaking of which, that hamster survived a 2 story fall with no injuries. To this day I don't know how that is possible. I think hamsters are just not very aerodynamic. |
For some reason, I laughed really hard at that. But yeah, those poems sound interesting.

Those poems actually sound pretty interesting. I don't see how it would survive that either... hmm... that's neat.

I go through spells of that too; I've been having a similar issue as of late.

I flip through my artists list sometimes and feel paralyzed.

Yeah, I've had that---lately coupled with a feel of intimidation at just SO much stuff I haven't even touched yet. I notice when I go through times of intense composing too that it's hard to get myself to stop listening to and/or thinking about my compositions; I almost have to force myself to listen to something else initially.

that's too bad, sorry to hear that. but you need a few of those bad ones to make the "right" one really stand out.
|
Well it was really only 3 days of depression before breaking up, but that's not that bad. And I suppose I got some insight and experience out of it, so maybe it was for the better. I also found out that she lied to me, which is more infuriating than anything else, but it wasn't about anything that big so life goes on.
|
Maybe I've just had supremely bad luck with girls, but lying has been part of the package for about half of 'em
|
That sucks, hopefully about nothing too big otherwise I'd never trust any girls. I always liked being single and when girls I didn't really care about hit on me (which is every girl who ever displayed signs of liking me), I just act really disconnected from reality and burnt out (I am that way anyway) until they give up. Usually in the rare occurrence when I like a girl, I get really shy or end up rarely seeing her. Oh well.
|
Ehh, it wasn't about small things either, to pack a worse punch. The disconnected thing, I do that a lot when girls I'm not interested in flirt with me. I did that to a girl a few months ago, she ended up getting pissed off at me simply because I didn't like her back, so glad I didn't go out with her if she was gonna be a whiny bitch like that anyway.

I can show them the poem I wrote about omnipresent mold as a metaphor for our slowly decaying existence. |
For some reason, that just struck me as a poem that would be funny. Not in a degrading way, not sure how.

And if they're emo you can punch them in the face. Jk. It just makes me think of a picture I saw on the internet once about punching emo kids in the face.
