Not experienced enough to tell, but I've just taken a deeper listen into Prokofiev and it's magnificent.

Is this the new gen Sony with MediaPlayer as part of it?

The old ones apparently had a bit of a crap system.

Actually, Jared, I've only got three albums on my mobile 'phone (which is also an MP3 player) and I rarely listen to it.

Univers Zero - Ceux du Dehors
Magma - Retrospektiw I-II
Battles - Mirrored

I used to have Bone - Uses Wrist Grab on my old 'phone.

the cheapest deal for this model online (believe me, I've looked..LOL) and at 16gb, it should hold about half of your collection...Approve unless of course you happen to be James, in which case you wouldn't stand a chance...LOL

anyway, I'll pop back later, on the Albinoni trail (before this page starts to glitch, and goes down in flames...Embarrassed)

Good deal Jared, looks like about $140 for that player.  Hope you enjoy it - I know once I loaded up my iPod (80 GB) with my collection, now I can't do a work day without it.  (Incidentally, I'm using about 55 GB of it right now, so still plenty of buffer, but I could see a day coming when I have to start culling some stuff out).

Very cool player, J. Cool

But less Albinoni, more Prokofiev.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Which Gilgamesh album?

Both are excellent. Big smile

Both? I have three, I think. LOL

The self-titled.

Three? Shocked

The self-titled is the Snakes and Ladders cover, isn't it?

Yes.

And I have three. LOL

Gilgamesh
Another Fine Tune...
Arriving Twice

Oh that's right, they reformed and released one in the 1990s.  I forgot about that. LOL

I have the first two... but need them on CD. Ouch

Pat, how did you like Cartoon?

Cartoon was brilliant.
I can't wait to hear PFS - I think the album was $4 at Wayside!  Tongue

PFS are actually quite different yet still chamber prog.  It's actually closer to classic chamber music than even Univers Zero.

And I may look for those Albinoni Oboe Concertos... I quite liked it even if it did sound like Refugees in the violin part. LOL

I do like some baroque.

Listen to some Albinoni Oboe Concertos and let me know which one sounds like Refugees. Wink

I really was taken about when I heard it...

There's only 12 to check.  In fact, there's less than 12, 'cause it's one of the ones with violin and oboe on it:

The 12 concertos

  • Concerto for violin in B flat major, Op. 9, No. 1 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for oboe in D minor, Op. 9, No. 2 (I. Allegro e non presto, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for 2 oboes in F major, Op. 9, No. 3 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for violin in A major, Op. 9, No. 4 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for oboe in C major, Op. 9, No. 5 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for 2 oboes in G major, Op. 9, No. 6 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for violin in D major, Op. 9, No. 7 (I. Allegro, II. Andante e sempre piano, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for oboe in G minor, Op. 9, No. 8 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for 2 oboes in C major, Op. 9, No. 9 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for violin in F major, Op. 9, No. 10 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for oboe in B flat major, Op. 9, No. 11 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
  • Concerto for 2 oboes in D major, Op. 9, No. 12 (I. Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Allegro)
