Yesterday:
Woke up at 7:30 Went to a couple of bookstores from 8:30 to 2:00 There I bought the novelisation of the first Doctor Who episode "An Unearthly Child", "Looking for Alaska" by John Green, and "Splinter in the Mind's Eye", a Star Wars book that takes place between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Got home, packed my guitar, got to my 3:00 guitar lesson Got home around 4, got on the computer, and watched season one of The League of Gentlemen |

Forgive me for writing about yesterday rather than today.
11:00 Woke up, coffee, cigarettes, breakfast etc. Checked the temperature: 33°C (91.4°F). Not bad considered that we’ve had 38°C (100.4°F) earlier this summer. 12:30 Left home with my wife. 12:40 Grabbed the bus. Bad driver, good air conditioning. 12:50 Left the bus. Walked for 10 minutes down to the store Jumbo. Had a cigarette and some water before we went inside to shop – stuff for the house, a few garments, cockroach traps, tealights, toothpicks etc. Much of it half price of what we pay elsewhere. 13:45 Payed. 14:00 Back at the bus station where a Greek woman claimed that the bus had already gone, and the next one was due in an hour. We didn’t really believe her since we’d taken that bus several times before, and it had never come earlier than 10 minutes past. 14:20 Grudgingly we had to accept that the woman was right and start to rearrange our plans: We had planned to go by bus to the harbour and have lunch at a restaurant before going home. Instead we started to walk along the dusty and busy main road under a scorching sun, most of the way without a pavement. My wife hadn’t brought a hat, so she put a pair of trousers we’d bought at Jumbo on top of her head. We were quite a sight. 14:50 Found a cafe. It was closed, but the owner and his family were having a private barbecue and we were allowed to have a Coke and a smoke. That probably saved our lives (the Coke, not the smoke). Sat for app. 20 minutes before leaving. 15:45 Arrived at cafe Sousami inside town. Had a small beer each. 16:20 Sat down at Mama’s Pita quite close to our home to eat a simple lunch: Greek salad and bifteki (Greek hamburgers). Asked for wine, but they only had retsina, so we had a karafaki (2 dl) of ouzo instead. We took half of it with us when we left. 17:30 When we reached the street where we lived, my wife suggested that we’d have a coffee at Bonito, so we went inside their garden and ordered to frappé (ice coffee). 18:10 Finally home – exhausted, but in a good mood. Had a glass of wine before we showered. The rest of the day was less interesting. It included some more food and fluids, of course, some strange cicada noises from our bathroom, an argument about what makes people argument, and a good deal of laughing. Went to bed at two-three o’clock, so what we did after belongs to another day. |

Wow, you American boys head back to school really early in comparison to us Canadians. We don't start till September the 4th! I suppose it varies throughout the country though.
Okay, what did I do today? Hmm.. - Woke up at 6:30 AM to go to work with my dad (landscaping, lawn maintenance). - Listened to Sound Chaser by Yes and TNT by Tortoise on the way up to the first property. - The first place, RV Park - 3 acres, took 2 hours altogether, with the both of us. Luckily it was a fairly cool day. - Had lunch at Tim Hortons. - Worked with my father till 3:00 PM, around our area. About 10 properties, altogether, were finished. - Stopped by Mike's Record Store and bought a Foxtrot Vinyl - New. - Watched a couple of episodes of Metal Evolution on the computer and various concert clips on youtube (John Zorn, Henry Cow). - Had porkchop for dinner. - Listened to Tortoise's Millions Now Living Will Die in my basement for an hour. - Went to my grandma's house for a late night swim in her pool. - Went on PA. Haven't been on much lately, pretty busy. - Sleep |

Andrew, you're homeschooled? I didn't know that. I was homeschooled until high school. Today: 7:30 - tried to wake up 7:45 - actually woke up, ate a biscuit. 8:45 - family devotions 9:45 - progarchives! 11:00 - off to my college class, listening to Genesis, And Then There Were Three 12:00 - class time, American 20th century history. First day, so no class content of interest, mostly introduction stuff, syllabus review, class introductions (which took a long time as it's a lecture hall class with 80 students). 1:00 - going back home, listening to Rush, Caress of Steel 2:00 - more PA 3:00 - feeding my dog and practicing guitar 5:00 - ham and salad for dinner 6:00 - more guitar practice 7:30 - heading to guitar lesson, finishing Caress of Steel 8:15 - guitar lesson. I play a classical piece, an original song, some jazz solos, we talk about Mastodon videos, chord building, and how it's important to know all the rules so you can break them more effectively. 9:20 - heading back, And Then There Were Three again 10:00 - a nice hot shower, singing Genesis songs in the shower 10:30 - on here again, listening to Book 1 by The Great Gamble |
