the Supersilent 'duo' of Stale Storlokken (keyborads/synths) and Jarle Vespestad (drums/percussives) for their amazing ability to listen to one another and create beautiful tones n' textures..........

If separate, I'm going to have to go all-Genesis on this one. Tony's keyboards are a cornerstone of their sound and after listening to all of "Selling England by the Pound" last night I was amazed. Phil's drumming is another of those little things that go such a long way. He can hold a beat, he can show off, and best of all he's killer when the band go into jazzier territory.

But if we're talking about the best keyboardist/drummer, I'm going to have to say Yoshiki from the famous Japanese metal band X-Japan. He's a virtuoso at both instruments (which ought to be pretty rare I'd think) and a great songwriter. Plus he's fun to watch on drums because he reminds me of Animal from The Muppets. I think many people here would like this band since they definitely have their prog moments (especially on the almost 30-minute "Art of Life") and for people who like classic heavy metal since they also channel Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.

Jack DeJohnette is one of my absolute favorites, talk about a consummate musician...

Does the "keyboardist" tag apply to keyboard percussionists (players of vibes, marimba, etc.)?  If so, I must add Pierre Moerlen to the list!  Thumbs%20Up

Ok, Mr. Carlos Tarkus... I read 2 posts from you and both were provocative. A nice way to find friends here.

One more and you're out...

Wait a minute. In what way is this topic different from the other one about best keyboard player and drummer?

Looks the same to me

That's exactly what I was thinking

Yes, but this combines best keyboardist and best drummer into one super poll.  Wink
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

You are a perfect madonna.

You are an agent provocateur.

Iīm sure that your prefered keyoard player, is the one that plays on the Ramoneīs albuns.

and the drummer is the one that plays on the Ritchie Blackmoreīs night.

Am i wrong?

Iīm not gona gave you names , because you know who are the best. and you behave like a virgin.

Of course there is no doubt about who the best keyboarder and drummer are: Jeanine Greifswald-Tolleson and Friederike Greifswald-Tolleson, the keyboarder and drummer of the Bald Angels, the band of my wife and me.  (Take that as tongue in cheek).

BaldJean and I; I am the one in blue.

FYI: Porl Thompson is a guitarist not a drummer. Though I
would say Boris Williams is in my top ten...

This is a prog forum bro. Those guys are respectable, but nowhere near most talented. John Paul Jones was a member of the best hard rock band of all time, but he is nowhere near the best keyboardist.
