My dad had a triple heart bypass 4 years ago and he's absolutely fine now.
I am sure that Keith has maintained a high level of general fitness and let's hope he is fighting fit again soon.

Sad news . Hopefully however, the good news may be that this was diagnosed and will be treated in time.

"Why say it cannot be done.....they'd be better doing pop songs?"

I just received this email this morning.  Since most of you realize what he means to me...I thought I'd share my sadness with you and hope that those of you who can, send a few prayers and/or best wishes Keith's way...

This is OFFICIAL:

All dates announced for The Keith Emerson Band Tour 2005-06, starting in Italy, July 19th, has been cancelled indefinitely......... Sorry :-(

Day-before-yesterday, unexpectedly and unfortunately, Keith was informed by his cardiologist in Los Angeles, that he has a blockage in an artery in his heart and will require, at the minimum, having a stent inserted in the blocked vessel to open it up and additional drug therapy and treatment. The recovery from a successful procedure like this is about a month or so.......... On the other hand, if he elects to have bypass surgery, he will need at least six months or more to recover from the surgery and who knows how long to regain a satisfactory level of proficient  playing, suitable to his standards.  I am sure that any encouragement by all will be appreciated.
