Well, seeing as how I love Seinfield, I would have voted that, but it's already winning and Frasier has gotten no votes, which is simply unacceptable. So Frasier gets my vote. One of the most intelligent American Television Sitcoms I have ever seen.

I went for Seinfeld. Me being an old fart would have suggested The Honeymooners and The Beverley Hillbillies ( funny that could be the music) as well but Friends, Heres Lucy and Married with Chidren are a good laugh as well.

I was going to mention WKRP in Cincinnati but someone beat me to it. Loni Anderson was hot (of course) but I always had a small crush on Jan Smithers, my kind of gal!

Out of these, Seinfeld, with Taxi a close second, and Frasier third. I loathe Friends. Other honorable mentions that are not on the list are Just Shoot Me, Two and a Half Men.

Friends all the way. I think that's pretty much the only one of that list that I've watched regularly (all ten seasons four or five times). I've loved the Frasier episodes I've seen as well, but I haven't gotten my hands on any dvd boxes yet.

I thought you left Seinfeld out so I voted MASH, my mistake. Seinfeld is my favourite.
I also like MASH, Friends, The Nanny, Cheers, Frasier, Taxi.
Not on the list: Dharma & Greg! Great one. Does anyone remember it?

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I liked to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air
In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys
Who were up to no good
Startin making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'
I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed my suite case and send me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket.
I put my walkman on and said, 'I might as well kick it'.
First class, yo this is bad
Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass.
Is this what the people of Bel-Air Living like?
Hmmmmm this might be alright.
But wait I hear there're prissy, wine all that
Is Bel-Air the type of place they send this cool cat?
I don't think sow
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air
Well, the plane landed and when I came out
There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested
I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like lightening, disappeared
I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I can say this cab is rare
But I thought 'Now forget it' - 'Yo homes to Bel Air'
I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

Friends is my favourite. I also seem to have partially inherited my grandfather's tv-tastes: Married with children, Benny Hill, On the buses (the last two are British, I know)

I have to admit it's a funny list but I wanted to dive in history as well. Many never saw Here's Lucy probably and that show is incredibly outdated of course.
To me these are all big names in history but I don't like them all by any means. Most of these comedies are or were very popular over here.
And about history: it's significant that Cheers totally dominated the eighties here in Holland leaving all the others palish maybe with exception of Taxi and Soap (hey, I forgot that one !).
But when Cheers ceased in 1993 it had a great natural follow up in Friends. Most popular comedy ever in the Netherlands without competition. Seinfeld is more for the intellectuals.

Since The Big Bang Theory isn't there - I vote Roseanne ('cept that isn't there either ) as it shares two of the actors.
(I think I recognised 1/3rd of the shows listed )

Married ... with children, truly awful, but on purpose, and I liked who it offended. M*A*S*H was pretty good, though it kind of got stuck in a rut. I was just watching Malcolm In The Middle this morning, which wasn't included in poll. It's pretty good.

What's funny if for you to declare most of these as awful, you must have subjected yourself to them, and I do believe that makes you a masochist.

From the list? Ugh... Fresh Prince of Bel-Air I suppose. I haven't seen it in many years but the only other show I have seen is Friends. If I had to make a top 10 of comedies, I couldn't use any from the list. I also couldn't make it to 10. 1. Arrested Development (Huge drop) 2. Futurama 3. The Simpsons 4. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia 5. 30 Rock 6. Scrubs 7. The Office
