I'm Finnish. We have some fabulous sceneries and George Gaynes was born here. Most of the music is only meant for making big money, but fortunately we also have a prog folk trio consisting of drums, bass and an electric kantele (It's called Stringpuré band, not sure how it's written).

this, and also Pnoom!'s comment about the good and the bad.
But I live in a fairly populated city (Richmond, the capital of VA), and thus many bands come here.

I'm American. I'm half Israeli and have dual citizenship. I guess I'm proud to be American and part Israeli, but I'm not one of those people who has a bunch of lawn decorations for the Fourth of July or anything like that.

British. I like it here, despite the myriad of problems. That said I'm not often "proud" of being British, and when I am I suppress it ASAP, usually my trapping my hand in a door.

I'm Dutch: I'm proud that my country is in the top 10 of medal winning countries at the olympics. Well, at this moment at least. It's good that Holland is ambitious
I live in Belgium. I'm proud that since yesterday the first two medals have been won A nice thing about that Belgium that it's not too trendy
I guess that I'm a Nederbelg as they call it: half Dutch, half Belgian.

I'm from brazil, and isn't a secrete that we got good and bad stuff. Nice beaches, hot girls, awesome weather, but most of the time the violence and the corruption with the big poverty are the main problems that we got.

English, and if there's one thing I can be proud of in this country is that we are THE world leaders in the Motorsport industry, even the foreign teams have Brits in high places.

Kibble_Alex - It's been a while since I was in Sweden (and I might have a somewhat stereotypical idea of how an 'average' Swedish girl looks), but I don't think Polish girls look like Swedish ones at all, two very different types of beauty...

At least you have girls in your country. We have Céline Dion. Now that`s one ugly scrawny braindead woman. Can`t believe she just recieved an honourary degree in music. (Music ????????) from The University of Laval. She probably can`t even read it. She`s playing on the Plains of Abraham tonight as part of Québec city`s 400th anniversary. 400th anniversary ? They`re having problems getting enough portable toilets which I think is very appropriate.

Ah yes. Sweden, the Glorious Motherland and Home of the Brave. Haven't been in war since 1809 which some find strange. Well, we've got a secret. When someone gives Sweden two alternatives, we choose the third. Sometimes questionable when the decision is made, often cowardly, but it saves our but most of the time. Like during WWII.
Apparently one of the nations that pay most tax on our planet. Around 33%. So far, all feels good. Free schooling, healthcare and stuff. Slightly too meddlesome government at times, but we've lived with social democracy since 1898. Or about 80% of the time. I guess.
One of the most secularised countries. Yup, and also tops the suicide list. So all isn't top notch. Once home of the Vikings, brutal plunderers of foreign shores, nowadays a cosy little nation full of moderately sized cities, communities and villages. Conditions can be hard during winter. Cold and dark - but the summer is excellent. We've got a lot of untouched wilderness as well.
A silent people according to some, personally I don't know. We've been doing stuff our own way for quite some time, with the Swedish Model (not the blonde, female ones - even though they appear to be frequent abroad ).
We've got moose. And enjoy drinking a lot. Beer and vodka in the past, nowadays more and more of the fancier stuff.
We've got a royal family without power and in which we place no interest. We keep them as a tourist attraction and pay them well for it.
Being non-Swedish in personality is considered good. We have no national pride, since that's ugly, and yet we value Swedish products higher than everything else. IKEA anyone?
ABBA. Almost forgot them.
Any further questions? Just post them then.

Can`t believe you forgot the aerospace industry. Long line of hot fighter planes J-29, J35, J37 and the JAS 39 Griffon one of the most manoeverable and advanced modern light weight fighters. The J 37 Viggen was the first true multi -role combat aircraft, produced in several versions, each version could be reconfigured and turned around in a short time. Had a friend who worked on them as a conscript back in the late 70s early 80s ( to maintain his dual Swedish/canadian citizenship )and managed a few rides in the " Sk " two seat training version. They just retired the last two earlier this year. They were being used as ECM aircraft. Vibrant civilian aerospace industry as well. The JAS 39 has also been exported to Hungary, the Czech Republic and South Africa and I believe Denmark is considering purchasing it to replace their F-16s as well. Visited Sweden once and was very suprised with the Swedes`command of the English language. Same with the Netherlands.

Portuguese of old and very diluted Norman English extraction. Used to think my country was crap. But then I began travelling abroad - the more foreign countries I visit, the more I think mine is awsome. But I guess that happens to alot of people. Plus I never actually "lived" more than two months abroad.
The music is still mostly crap, though.

I'm happily British and wouldn't want to be anything else. At the age of 19 I was would have been able to aquire dual English-German citizenship, but declined despite any advantages this might have had. I'm just British inside, and nothing else.
As for the Empire: I'm glad it's gone because now that it's come to Britain there's be no need to go there anymore.
