I can see where Yes could be disliked or not favored becasue of certain
songs, lineups, and members...but hate? That is a very strong word. This
thread just started off bad, how can you have discussions with topics like
this?

No problem  I like circus of heaven anyway it is rather sweet, but I'm not sure if that makes it cheesy...I hate the word cheesy in fact(unless it applies to cheese of course(in fact the cheese course  ))

That sounds like a pretty serious question, Sean. It seems you've taken exception to me. Oh well.
In answer to your question. No I dont consider them cheesy at all. I once read a sociological study of why it was that so many mourned someone they didn't know, and it made for very depressing reading, and I dont want to go into it now.
We've all indulged in 'cheesy' moments in concerts or wherever. Dont take the idea too seriously.

Difficult to articulate, but a cheesy song in my book is a song that puts across an emotion in an overly sweet way; sickly and over the top to the point where it just sounds embarssing. Real arm waving, cigarette lighter holding moments that make you cringe.
Thats my take on the 'cheesy' concept, others may have different ideas, but I'm sure they're all in the same ball park, or cheese factory.

No, I don't hate Yes. Sometimes they are a bit too cheesy, but they've also done some fantastic things (Fragile).
