^ Lol! I haven't added any wax cylinders, but I have accidentally added 'Billy Boy' again.  The 'submittitle' page had been open in my browser for a few hours, and when I clicked the "Add more albums from this band now" so that I could add the 'Old King Coal' cassette release, the page said that it needed to be refreshed before I was able to proceed further. I did this, and duly added the 'Old King Coal' release, but when I checked to see that the addition had gone okay, I was horrified to find that another entry for 'Billy Boy' had appeared there as well. Ouch When I refreshed the page it must have re-sent the info I had typed in for the previous addition I'd made. It seems I'm not very good at this album addition lark lol! Every one I've done so far has gone wrong in some way or other!

So I'm very sorry for duplicating 'Billy Boy', and could you please ask admins to delete it? Embarrassed

I'll attempt the last two Grace releases tomorrow.

^ Thanks Eugene. Are we allowed to add cassette releases too - such as this one from 1992 - all profits from which went to the aid of the communities affected by the closure of the pits in the area around the band's home town of Stoke-on-Trent back in the early 1990s?

^ Thanks, David, I've made all changes you suggested.

Regarding 7''-singles I prefer (in general, not only in Grace case) to have both A and B sides in the title. Because most often A-sides are album tracks while B-sides not. In our days B-sides are more interesting then "main courses".
Additionaly, popular bands had different editions of their hits backed with different tracks, it's more convenient to have both tracks in the title.

^ Three singles done.
Old Stories - Brittania would appear to anyone viewing the page that it is spelt incorrectly (correct spelling is Britannia). However, this is exactly how it appears on the disc label, so I have left it as it is.

Fire of London - discogs and RYM both have the title as "Fire of London / Beatnik" (or incorrectly as "Fire Of London / Beatnic" in the discogs heading for the single - thought they've got it right in the actual track listing), but the sleeve it came in only says "Fire of London" on the front, so that is how I've added it (please alter if you feel that both titles should be included). The back of the sleeve lists Beatnik as side B, so its not really a double A single imho. The back of the sleeve also has the full list of musicians and the instruments they played, so all we are missing for this one are the timings, though if you want to add the time for 'Fire of London' on its own then it's on YouTube (duration about 4:12).

Edit: ^ Same with Billy Boy - I've only included the song written on the front of the sleeve in the title, though RYM and discogs both list it as "Billy Boy / Ad-Mad". Please alter if you feel this is preferable. The back of the sleeve actually says "Billy Boy c/w Ad-Mad", if that's any help. See http://www.45cat.com/record/mca667.

Edit 2: It seems that 'Fire of London' was also released by MCA Australia (MCA 1671) in March 1981, I didn't include that in the releases information for this single. EmbarrassedSee http://www.45cat.com/record/mca1671 (though neither discogs or RYM mention this additional release).

First one hasn't gone well. It looks like I left a blank line above the text I entered for all three headings. Ouch

Edit: Second one seems to be OK apart from having unnecessary dots after the U and K in UK (releases information section). I copied that line direct from the Bomark page, and never noticed those dots when I edited it slightly. When you get rid of the unwanted white space for that first DVD I added, maybe you could also add England, UK after the name of the venue (Penkhull Village Hall) where that one was recorded too? Embarrassed

Thanks Eugene. I'll have a go at it later tonight. There are also six singles and EPs listed for the band on discogs which we don't have on our site at the moment, so I'll see what I can find about them, and hopefully add those as well. Smile

^ The 2017 release isn't entirely precise regarding the track running order (the Bomark page for it just says "set list includes"...though it's highly likely that the list of songs will be complete, and in the true running order), and both state "over 100 minutes of film footage" rather than an exact duration, but if you're happy for them to be added with the info that we currently have available, then I'll do it. Smile If Mac replies to my message then I'll try and get more details from him, but it doesn't look at the moment as though he's going to respond. He's been on facebook earlier this afternoon, but made no attempt to look at my message unfortunately. I'll try an old email address that I have for him if I don't hear anything by the end of the weekend, and hope that it gets redirected to his current one.

^ Thanks, David, corrected "Overdose" titles and timings as you suggested.

I see nothing scaring in DVDs' info - the pages have covers, track lists and total times. Enough for the additions, we may write that "The actual instrumentation could not be fully confirmed at this moment".

^ There is some more confusion on the Internet regarding the track list of the 'Overdose' album too. We have track 5 as "Into the Night", whereas all the streaming platforms (Spotify, Deezer, YouTube Music etc) have it as "Into the Dark". Mind you - those streaming platforms have both track 8 and track 9 listed as "Big Man", whereas they are really "Big Man" (track 8) and "If Ever" (track 9). We currently have the timings of these two tracks reversed. If you listen to them on Spotify or YouTube Music, "Big Man" is Actually the four minute song and "If Ever" is the six minute one. Even though they're both called "Big Man" on these streaming platforms, you can distinguish which one is which by the lyrics. Ermm

Discogs has the correct track names and running order, but doesn't give the timings.

I don't know why I didn't mention these other anomalies with the 'Overdose' album in my original post from December 2019. I must not have noticed them back then. Embarrassed

Grace have also quite recently released two live DVDs via North Staffordshire video production services company Bomark Studios - one in 2016 and the other in 2017. The first is on discogs, but the second isn't. I'm scared to add them to PA in case I inadvertently open up an even bigger can of worms than the one we already have with Grace! LOL

^ Yes, that's correct according to everything I've found out so far. If Mac Austin responds to my earlier message about David Edge's contribution to the 'Overdose' album I'll ask him about this debut album as well.

^ Thanks, David,

as I understand, we have now:
LP Clay Records ‎- CLAY LP1 (1979, UK)
LP MCA Records ‎- MCF3102 (1981, UK)

and
LP Clay Records ‎- CLAY LP2 (1981, UK)

Correct?

^ There is considerable uncertainty on the Internet regarding the correct release year, as can be seen down in the comments below this upload of the album on YouTube, but RYM have the release as 1979 (issue details - Clay Records / MCF 3102 /). Now MCF 3102 was actually the catalogue number of the LP that was released by MCA Records, but the album was also released on vinyl as 'LP1' by the independent label Clay Records of Stoke-on-Trent, which is the band's home town (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clay_Records and https://www.discogs.com/label/2069-Clay-Records).

The MCA version is for sale on eBay, and the release year for that is certainly given as 1981. Discogs list the Clay Records issue of the subsequent 1981 Grace live album (Clay LP2) but they don't list the 1979 issue of the self-titled debut by Clay Records (Clay LP1) - only the 1981 issue of the debut LP by MCA Records.

The debut album was apparently much featured on torrent sites back in the late 'noughties', as this article from May 2009 indicates. The release date is again quoted here as 1979.

As far as I can make out then, there are two issues of the album in circulation - one by Clay Records released in 1979, and another my MCA Records released in 1981...hence the confusion. I am trying to contact lead singer Mac Austin to try and clear this up once and for all.

There are three listings of the Clay Records 1981 release of the live album (LP2) on eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392880666566https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381979857031, and https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324635859151, but none that I could find of the debut album (LP1). I suspect that very few copies were actually pressed before the task of distributing the debut album was passed over to MCA Records.

^ Thanks, David.

I already forgot about these releases. Smile

Changed "Grace" release year to 1979, but I'm still not sure it's correct. I'd prefer to see LP sleeves to make sure (I couldn't find one). We know that quite often for some reasons releases were postponed.
