Loud, but I'd prefer to keep my hearing (and speakers)

Hurrah, on one side of my house, there's a shop, and on the other side there's a church, so I have nothing to do with neighbours.
And yet, I don't put the music too loud. In the middle at maximum. To protect my ears, because I lost some of my hearing ability already because of an overdose of sound. Don't want to end up hard hearing before I'm old.
But when the music's really happening, up goes the volume button

Loud but not extremely loud since I've noticed a very slight ringing in my ears.

I listen to it pretty loud, from what people say to me. This has a bad side to my delicate musician hearing, but I can't stop having "this small stubbornness". When I'm alone and the music's on speaker (or on Winamp) it's moderately loud, enough to please me. And when I use headphones, I keep an equally powerful volume. Finally, when I don't listen to music, even when no music sound (thought that's clearly impossible, taking everything in account) isn't made, I constantly have music in my mind, that's a musician's deluxe I presume, and it too [the music in my mind] is loud. So...loud enough!

when no one is around as loud as possible without hurting my ears or speakers, with others there its quiet to moderate
and of course intense music I like quiet, mellow music I like loud

Somewhere in the middle, mostly. To keep my hearing and my speakers working.

I play music at a mid to low volume level. The only time I play it loud is when I am walking to school and the traffic noise is horrible....

What's music?
Anyway, my vote's for other: earphones. I don't like headphones, really. When using the speakers, I keep it down - and I like others to do the same.

On my mp3 payer, usually the lowest possible level is good because I have sensitive earbuds that really block outside sound. On my computer speakers, generally low to mid-level.

I wanted to know how loud people like to listen to their music. Answer the poll, and maybe write a little bit about how loud you listen to it and why.
I personally listen to my music pretty loud, but I wish to be in the audio engineering business when I grow up so I try to keep my ears in good condition. I've never blown a speaker, but I might be getting close with these old ones of mine. I like to listen to it loud cause I can feel it more, and I can hear all of the more subtle parts in it.
