'In The Court Of The Crimson King' came out in '69?! I didn't
realize that. 'Yes' came out that same year and even though I'm a
total Yes fan I have to say KC was miles ahead of the prog wave at the
time. Wow. (Stunned realization).

Definitely In The Court Of The Crimson King, but in case you haven't heard it: Abbey Road by the Beatles is very good too, and a lot of progfans will like it. Side 2 is abit like a progressive multi-movement suite.
The first Yes album is very good too, by the way.

i would vote for abbey road which is one of the best in the rock history, but actually it was the end of the great band. so i voice for the begining of another one - genesis

Im mostly into 70s prog, into more obscure groups from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, South America etc. I dont like neoprog. I like the classic 70s vintage sound with analogue synths and classic sounding electric guitars. From UK groups im more into King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Van Der Graaf than in Genesis and Yes. I like dark prog .
You'll do for me.

I voted for The Court Of The Crimson King, but in my opinion, the best album that came out in 1969 is Chicago's Chicago Transit Authority.
