From that list, Close to the Edge just beats Supper's Ready, but I think Gates of Delirium is even better. Partick Moraz |

This list is pretty short and not entirely composed of epics. Anyway, I voted for other for The Gates of Delirium although I really like almost all of the other ones. But as always, I will admit that I don't really like Echoes and SOYCD from Pink Floyd. Great pieces of music without doubts, but I just personally doesn't find them exciting and fun to listen to. That is what I don't like from most of Pink Floyd's material. Sorry pro-Pink Floyd fans.

Thick as a Brick millions light years ahead from these other ones. Ok,
the others are all superb, but Thick as a brick is the most inventive
progressive rock epic.

I think many of the tracks you listed in the poll would be better defined as "epics" or "suites", as they are not just long, but also divided in several movements - as it is the case of KE 9, SOYCD, CTTE and Supper's Ready. BTW, although I love most of the tracks you mentioned, I voted for the utterly magnificent Starless. Every time I listen to it (I last did a couple of days ago) it just floors me. Pure brilliance!

I am going to suggest lesser known classics like 'The Valentyne Suite' by COLLOSEUM and 'The Love In Your Eye' suite by CARAVAN !!

Voted other. Can't seperate Yes - Awaken or Banco - Il Giardino del Mago Banco's Metamorfosi and Museo Rosenbach's Zaruthstra are two other particular favourites of mine. |

I'm assuming "long" means 15+ minutes long. If so, these are my favs: "Gates of Delirium" "Supper's Ready" "Close to the Edge" "Cassandra Geminni" "Echoes" "Awaken"

21st Century Schizoid Man is not an epic by any strectch of the imagination. 7 minutes really isn't that long. My vote goes for Echoes. Although I do like SOYCD and Karn Evil. Edited by Ghandi 2 |
