Thanks for your votes! I'm not quite sure, where did your other two votes go to?

I made a playlist of all suggested tracks. I included it in the article, on top of page one of this thread.

@JD
I'm glad that we now have a musically diverse line-up, also in terms of musical instruments, including the sound of a marimba as an opening act! Smile

that still does not say what you think about the song, do you likeit, or not, do you think it's a good song or not...
I don't 'dislike' like it. it seems more like background music to me is what I was indicating. A good song? Meh?

Thank you for your comment, Nickie! You know, this is in fact all JD's "fault". I had posted my tracks and already decided on my nomination (the vibraphone/piano piece) but then JD came round the corner and posted 2 marimba pieces . . grrr LOL - John Zorn is all too well-known but this is a song he wrote for a film, in a style that I wouldn't recognise as his work tbh, although he is known for his stylistic versatility and he has written a lot of music for films. Here it is actually the singer who is in the focus. So I thought that's acceptable. She is Argentinean btw.

1 - Nicu Alifantis: Emotie de toamna
A pastoral dinner music serenade that would be right at home in any 5 star Michelin establishment.

2 - Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltgung: Werkende Mieren
An instrumental rhythmic folk tune, or perhaps better stated as 'de-tuned' by the sound of some of the instruments. A strong contender.

3 - Trilok Gurtu: Vignola
East Indian sounding ethnic hymn tune I would expect to hear upon seeking admission to only the finest of mountainous temples. "Where's my peyote !"

4 - Ak Dan Gwang Chil: Yeong Jeong Geo Ri
Korean acoustic pop ? Whatever it is...it rocks.

5 - Myrkur: Leaves of Yggdrasil
Danish folk tune reminiscent of Simon and Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair.

6 - Skäggmansl*g.t: Ryttarpolskan & Polska från Enviken
Violin Trio with a folkie tune that would right at home in any Canadian east coast fishing town. All that's missing is a little quicker tempo, some boot stomping and the occasional 'whoop' from the musicians.

7 -

Hi everybody!

The line-up is complete and you can start voting now. Try to vote by week's end since the next poll is round the corner.

Note:
There are two short songs by the Swedish folk group, Skäggmansl*g.t. They count as one entry.
The video for the Penguin Cafe Orchestra is a live performance. I added a studio version of their piece with better sound quality. Both videos are at the end of the playlist.

Enjoy & have fun! Smile

p.s. timothy leary is not participating. While waiting for his reply I started rumming through my music collection and came across another song. I'm sorry about that but I'm simply a music addict! lol
