Here are my Top 3, honourable mentions and “if they’d chosens.”  Kudos to Cristi for giving the ladies the stage, to all of the participants, to George for the playlist and as always, to Lorenzo, “The Grand Creator.”

1.       Christian:  Far and away my favourite!   Go_A-SHUM “Ukraine Contribution etc”  Ooooh, fun discordant vocals.  Almost sorta middle eastern/Balkan moments and what a cool truck and falcon.   Synths and a whistle/flute.  Ends on a high note with almost what would be called a “zyarit,” in belly dance land. Also, if you’d chosen  Sylvia Juncosa’s “one in three,” would have been in the mix for deeper consideration.

2.       Kees:  Easily second choice, it did become a “grower.”  Anna Calvi “Wish”  Live setting, here, driving, mostly solo electric guitar  for quite some time, then band joins in (nice [Fender] guitar!!!!)  Sorta punky, but then gets into some really interesting lead work and I like her more sung than semi-spoken vocals.  Gets into a kind of wailing, thrashy, part.  If you’d chosen either of these also, it might have worked out differently, Anouk “Nobody’s Wife” Anouk “It’s a New Day”

3.       George: I really liked the attitude and the reference to The Weathermen (always loved that Dylan line, too).  Dead Sara “Weatherman”  Straight-forward hard rock here, with a touch of alt-rock/grunge, catchy guitar hooks and a raspy-voiced lead vocal.  Bit of a rap 2/3rds in (a trend here), then back to the driving song.

Honourable Mentions:

Cristi:  Blood Ceremony “Goodbye Gemini”

JD:  I am sorry I knew all of your choices, so my own caveat is not to vote for something I already know.  However, I do love especially both the Lee Aaron and Nina Hagen songs.

IF YOU’D CHOSEN THESE, PERHAPS A DIFFERENT OUTCOME FOR MY VOTES

Mike:  The Breeders “Saints,” also if you’d chosen  Linda Martini “Este Mar”

TigerfeetEllips “Maailma on Rikki”

Greg:  Eskaton “Dagon”

Lorenzo:  Cristina Donà “Ho Sempre Me”

Mila:  Tash Sultana “Murder To The Mind”

And not to leave out Ronstein, late to the party, but would love to have more to choose from, in future polls, if you have other potentials.

*I know I'm not supposed to vote for my own pick, but it really is my third preferred tune.

please do not vote for your own songs
Technically, I didn't. I only cast my vote for Dead Sara, the other two were just a list.
I thought I'd read the multiple vote option hadn't been enabled.
Plus, none of the other tunes does anything for me.

My votes:

Blood Ceremony - Goodbye Gemini
The Breeders - Cannonball
Ustmamo - Tannomai

EDIT: I could only vote for Blood Ceremony so far since the Allow Multiple Votes in this Poll function has not yet been enabled.

I might have gone for The Runaways, except that its inclusion in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie gave it too much exposure.
You can put me in for Lee Aaron - Watcha Do To My Body
Thanks.

And my first takes on latecomer Ronstein and a couple of additions that I'd somehow missed.

Ronstein:  Arimea “The Circus”  Here is some in-your-face with a spoken-y vocalist (at least at first), a bit of a sneering attitude (which is good in this genre).  Lead guitar break halfway in.  Plenty of energy from all.

Mike:  The Breeders “Cannonball”  Starts with a dispatch kinda “check check,” then some whangles on guitar and bass.  Once the main melody kicked in, I now remember this song.  I remember liking it especially the rubber-band-y guitar effect.  Super-effected scratchy vocals interspersed with washy ones.

Kees:   Anna Calvi “Wish”  Live setting, here, driving, mostly solo electric guitar  for quite some time, then band joins in (nice [Fender] guitar!!!!)  Sorta punky, but then gets into some really interesting lead work and I like her more sung than semi-spoken vocals.  Gets into a kind of wailing, thrashy, part.  This one could be a “grower.”

This is a friend's son's band, Arimea (he's the lead guitarist).

Here's a playlist. I will add JD's nominee when it is known.

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-zzvl_w6Fx44jMWPRT3W0NdmLyYSQ7ZU

I had to search out a video for Ustmamo since the one Lorenzo put up does not play mor me. Let me know if it's not the same. And let me know if any do not play outside the U.S. I also used Nickie's second posting for Heather Nova because the first did not play for Cristi.
