I think Sold To The Highest Budda would be a better choice.
I first went for In Every Dreamhome A Heartache, Why Am I So Short? And delighted to see I'm Going Slightly Mad included! |

"Saga of Rodney Toady" isn't the most progressive choice on this list, but it is hilarious, so it got my vote!
Also, it is quite politically incorrect by today's standards of no-bullying etc.

Listen to the Viv Stanshall narrated version of the Sailors Hornpipe on (the more recent versions of) Tubular Bells.. in fact any of the Bonzo's stuff and anything to do with Viv Stanshall.. smart and humorous! Stackridge.. Syracuse the Elephant or any of their songs.. Daevid Allen had a great sense of humour and the beauty of the absurd.. Richard Sinclair's lyrics whether with Caravan or Hatfield again show that warm absurdist humour..

Same. But the funniest song I know of by him is Who Needs the Peace Corps. For this poll however it's gotta be any PICNIC... PICNIC... PICNIC

I voted for In Every Dream Home A Heartache because I bought For Your Pleasure specifically for that track.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Actually - the funniest album of all time is 10cc's Sheet Music. Wall St Shuffle, Hotel, Clockwork Creep, Oh Effendi! and many other songs are very amusing and designed to offend as many different groups as possible.
I find it baffling that 10cc are classed as "prog related". In the 70s, they were THE definitive art rock band, and art rock was firmly classed as prog.

'Tull's 'Spectacles. Check out the accompanying film on their 2003 remaster (it was the same one shown during their supporting tour of 'Play). Funny stuff!

Great list of songs, but if I want Zappa it ain't Bobby Brown, it's the Adventures of Greggery Peccary.

What many people don't realize is that VdGG and Peter Hammill are sometimes excessively funny. Just think of songs like "Abandon Ship!" (with the self-irony and the geriatric rhythm), "All that Before", "Alfa Berlina" or "The Polaroid".
