I'd read he was going downhill very fast, so I was somehow expecting it to happen soon.. This doesn't make it less sad, though. RIP David, and thanks for the music and the joy you gave us.

That explains the strange phenomenon I witnessed last night - the stars were dancing joyously, one becoming brighter and brighter until it suddenly died out in a burst to give life to new stars.

Friday 13th - I knew something dire would happen this day....... Very sad news indeed. My dear Anarchist, Visionary, Pothead Pixie, Revolutionist, Instigator, Pioneer, Joker, Prog Zero ....... (and more - always making 'light' of tough situations in my life) - gone...... Of course, I never knew him in person, though my heart goes out to Gilli, his immediate family, friends, and all associated with Daevid and his musical escapades........ We were prepared, we knew it, damn this is up there with the toughest news within my Prog-Fanboy life........ Vive Gong, may that teapot fly high in the here-and-now, and for evermore. When I discovered Camembert Electrique back in the late 80's, that was it, Daevid was 'it', the 'one' - glissando-ing his way through the cosmos and taking me along for the ride. He always selected (?) the most fitting musicians to join him, without him, I'm sure there'd be no 'Canterbury Scene', and I thank him eternally for all the positivity and joy his music and words have brought to my life. R.I.P. Daevid, you will NEVER be forgotten.

He was given six months to live at the beginning of February, so he has been robbed of almost five of them. On the plus side , I expect he has been spared much suffering by this early exit. He did say he wasn't going to fight his illness, and it seems he was true to his word.

With his current health condition this is by no means surprising.
But this is quite a sad story. I feel many GonG marathons coming up.
RIP
