Was just listening to some old Chrome today and it reminded me of what it might sound like if early Can and Hawkwind got together to make a punk album.  Note how the song totally changes into something else after the 1:40 mark.

Well - I think there are a lot of different artists inside Krautrock with a language of their own, but I know what you mean...
I have completely fallen for this jazzy psych and improv album by Xhol Caravan (although they ditched the Caravan part of their name on this outing):

The problem with Can is that they speak all the languages of Krautrock. What's left to others ?

Here's the new edition of Assault 13 and Dark Star by Carpenter and Howarth. More electro than Kraut, simple than complex, written than improvised ... but I don't know.
