^ You're right. I posted that about Shadowyzard as an after-thought edit, without thinking it through, then immediately regretted it but didn't edit it out as I figured it would quickly result in some chat. I really do need to think things through more before posting (too impulsive too often).

I think the best solution is to respect the order I had proposed.
Moreover, I see that JD has already thought about the topic of his poll, so I would say that tomorrow JD will open his poll about the aliens! Then, Mila , then Shadowyzard, which is important for this team. I add that, if the aliens were really among us, we could invite them to open a poll! But after Logan's turn!

Maybe that could be your Interactive Poll idea. No need. I only raised it because I was unsure. Lorenzo had thought to have Mila and JD first (to give the "newbies" a shot), but I didn't know who would want to take this on. We are already a day past the posted schedule, so I thought I should bring it up. Things might have been thrown off a bit by unexpected events. If it were up to me, I'd say go for it now. I haven't seen Mila for a while, and I was too slow to respond to JD quickly, and he might want to familairise himself a bit more with the process before trying one. Although it's not that challenging (other than it takes some time an effort, especially going through the nominations and putting those up as well as making sure people have nominated on time, answering any concerns, preparing one's first post etc.) and I hope I explained that reasonably well in my earlier post. By the way, I thought that I might not have the time to participate in the next poll due to time constraints and activities.

If you want to do it, otherwise you might want to wait until you become more acquainted with the process. I can help if needed. We each set up the topics and do the polls when we take them on (not sure how many you've engaged with). You open a poll, write up the OP mentioning theme and rules usually, try to type something in all the 25 poll spaces (we commonly do an acrostic with a message spelled out from bottom to top), if you don't then those poll options cannot bed edited later with the nominations. Usually the rules are that after nominations people must vote for three options not their own. I let the nominations round last about one week, and then I put up the nominations and people have another week to vote before the next poll goes up. I would set up a date for final nominations to begin with so people know. Most people know how this works who participate, so a lot of details aren't necessary. And you can always edit your original post and adapt at first. I prepared this list before of polls to help people acquaint themselves with the topics, reading the original posts should familiarise one with the approach. If you want to adapt my rules (mine are unnecessarily wind-baggish and convoluted), while also mentioning your theme, feel free. There is something of learning curve, and it does take some effort. Most important to start, topic headline: Interactive Poll: Aliens Add a letter at least to all or most of the poll option spaces Explain your theme in the OP, basic rules, and deadline for nomination. After you know all of the nominations, edit the poll by adding the choices, then it's open to voting. Hope this helps. I said before that I'd do my work when it comes to my turn to be the poll creator. Yet I can be removed from here if it seems better. Let me create a poll to vote for this: "Shadowyzard - In or Out". |

Thought about raising this before Tuesday (as it has been set for one poll every two weeks on a Tuesday), but not sure if anyone in particular is planning to do one now. JD, Mila? Seems shadowyzard might have lost interest in these.. Edited by Logan - July 07 2021 at 08:13 |

Like Greg, I had no ill effects, except I didn't even get a sore arm! So perhaps you will also luck out also, Nick. Also, Greg, lol on Tainted Love

Other than some minor soreness in my upper arm, I had no ill effects from my first dose, nor did any of my family members. I had the Pfizer. I'm scheduled for my second dose tomorrow, and with that it is more common to feel ill. Unfortunately we recently had a delay in Pfizer shipments, and we may get the Moderna. I'd rather get the Pfizer again and wait a bit (been some issues with Moderna and in this case getting the same brand is often thought better), but they won't tell you in advance and I have to travel a bit for the shot, and then if I say at the time I don't want it, that can make things hard to reschedule. 3 weeks between doses is what is recommended for the Pfizer, but we have to wait a couple of months or more here commonly (had my first dose on May 1st and this was the soonest I could book one). It's still better here than in a lot of places, to be sure, so I'm not complaining. The more virulent Delta variant is quite prevalent here, so will still have to remain cautious. I wanted to do a topic on this before. Viruses/ pandemics/ plagues/ contagions/ contaminants and related things might make for an interesting if morbid Interactive Poll theme. Might call it Tainted love. I won't do that. |

I don’t know how you do it all, Mike - and absolutely you MUST still have time to listen to your own music for leisure. I know I struggle a little just to find time to listen to the prog metal suggestions that come to our team for evaluation, between my reviewing for TPA (which I am well behind on), and the general hurly burly lifestyle of having four children. As soon as I realise that I am having time for MY music, is when I know something has to be dropped - even if only temporarily. I know I haven’t been as involved with the last couple of Interactive Polls simply because I haven’t had the time for them, because I need time for ME. Best wishes to both you and Raff. Look after yourselves. |

PM received. I will endeavour to have it up later today. I am having my first covid jab today, so I will try and get it done before then, as from what I understand once I’ve had the jab I might not feel like doing anything…. |

^ All work and no play makes the Cat a dull kitty. Understandable, don't burn yourself out, Mike. We are but volunteers here, and you do a huge amount for the site.

I was hesitant to enter the last poll, not because of the subject or anything like that, but because I am not able to devote the time that I need to for it and still be on 3 genre teams, write up Bios, do the New Release reports and still have time to listen to my own music for leisure. I am going to have to retire from the interactive threads for now, as much as I enjoy them. I just feel I'm not giving it the time I need to be fair in voting or listening to everyone's entries. If things change, I'll join in, but I find that I always end up falling behind and even missing out on some votes because of other things that come up.

Yep, I'm also happy that this Interactive awesomeness is thriving, thanks to the new participants. I've absented myself from these polls for a long time, too. It is just "me"... Unpredictable, even to myself sometimes. It is also some sort of a principle of myself to do "nothing", if I don't feel like doing something... unless it is something of major importance. Health/feeling good & happiness... The things that matter most, for us. I wish you'll regain them soon, Raffaella. |

Dang, sorry to hear that Raff. I was looking forward to your topic, but no reason why you shouldn't be able to postpone it. I have chronic insomnia and know too well how a lack of sleep affects one (it increases my anxiety, for one).
