The drummer of Pelican is on the band Lair Of The Minotaur. Not Post-Metal, though.

Tusk are basically Pelican minus one member, drummer Bryan Herweg.
Tusk's line-up is Trevor de Brauw,Larry Herweg,Laurent Lebec.I don't know who their drummer is or who does the vocal work, but they are a four piece.

Yeah, the first disc is pretty brutal, technical and awesome.
The second disc is just epic and brilliant. There are too many perceivable influences to even begin to name.
As for Tusk, I haven't heard it but I've been looking for their album forever. Weren't they the band that preceded Pelican?

Are you talking about Precambrian??
Did you, um, listen to the 2nd disc? It's totally different from the songs on the first disc. While I agree that this album isn't really "post-metal", it definitely falls in a similar category.... it's definitely progressive sludge metal of some kind.
The vocals are not non-stop by any means, and they're not always harsh either. This is a really original and quite fantastic record.
All you haters don't know nothin'! |
I don't hate, I "meh" I'll admit the second disc was a lot better than the first, I might try it again because by the second disc my patience was wearing very thin...the first disc sounded like the b*****d child of Mastodon, Gojira, and Meshuggah, with somehow more annoying vocals than all three combined

Sorry GS, but I honestly quit listening halfway through the second disk, barely progressive IMO.
