There is an MSN abbreviation I have no idea what it means and yet I cannot remember what it is for the moment.
There's another forum I go on and it's much more "serious" that this one. I mean, people tend to stay on topic and not rant about random crap... but most of the female posters (most seem to be in the 30 to 50 age range) all seem to user "lol" at the end of any sentence that is not so on topic.
It drives me potty!

So glad I'm done with the college crap, no more little kids to pester me or anything now.

Hanging in there. Too bad I have another 2 1/2 years of undergraduate stuff then I figure another 2-3 years for an MBA. Although I figure I'll be working on my MBA once I get my first job.

I had this teacher who only had one tone (which was weird because rumor had it he used to be part of this separatist terrorist gang), not to mention the most boring topic on earth, but the guy just relentlessly played with the change and keys in his pockets. I only realised it during the second class, but after that, it's all I heard for 14 weeks. Still don't know what this class was about... |
That sounds annoying.

I quit that program after that semester too.
Actually, I don't like faint background noise type sounds. My partner likes to drive the car with the radio on really low. Just drives me nuts. |
I have a bad habit of tapping. May be the hyperactive drummer in me, I don't know, but I always love banging my hands to random rhythms while just sitting somewhere if I'm not doing much. Drives people around me nuts.

It is Business Law though, what do you expect?
I'd fall asleep just thinking about how boring that subject sounds...
|
Well, I don't expect her to make it exciting even, I just want to LEARN and not do all of the learning by just reading the book on my own. We don't even do anything in class.
Besides, at least the subject matter is a little interesting for me. Could be better for sure, could be worse, but man.
|
I agree 100%, especially with the bolded part. I think it would also be more interesting if getting on tangents didn't make her babble on and waste an entire class period.
|
It's awful since that's my last class too. It goes by SO slowly.
|
Oddly enough, I find the fact that she babbles a lot makes the class go really fast.
Oh, I almost forgot about that one girl who always asks her the most inane questions too and she gets dragged out in answering those too. She might be just as annoying.
|
Ugh, I know.

*upside-down
Gosh I don't know how I got through that class... I passed it surprisingly. Yes I can barely remember what it was about... oh yes, SSADM or something or was it Jackson Structured Programming? Nope, it was OO Design, that was it.

Oh and Mohammed Odeh had his head on upside down too.
Also, there was this deaf guy in our class and he always sat at the front of the lecture theatre with a signer... anyhow, one day he brought in a video camera so he could film the lecture (for lip reading and note taking purposes) but due to Mohammed's religion, he wouldn't let him record and got really defensive about it. The deaf guy (who also happened to be Asian) wasn't best pleased...
Nor were many of the rest of the class.

I probably would have tried to drop the class eventually after sh*t like that.

Oh Mohammed also had a monotone voice and after a while a whole group of us used to count how many times he went "um". I think one time it was over 100.

Well yes but even the best parents in the world cannot easily stop who their precious son(s) or daughter(s) hangs about with.
There's a few people who were in my year at secondary school who were high achievers. Indeed, one or two even went to Oxford University.
Yet they never wore their tie correctly (and their uniform was never right either). It was always a little stumpy thing, frayed at the bottom and not tight to the neck.
Then move on 12 or so years... I check out Friends Reunited notice said individuals doing well fore themselves but notice they have typed out everything in "text speak".
ARGH!
I have no time for such idiotic irrelevances.
As for me. Well I did average at school (I under-achieved actually; I was capable of doing better) but I always wore my uniform correctly and never buckled to peer pressure.
I also try to write/type correctly at all times. Yes, even when text-messaging.
I guess I have never been like my peers. I am proud of that fact too.
|
Didn't you say you wanted to write for a living?
Typing properly would obviously have to be a main priority for you.
My mom used to make us correct and recopy telephone messages and grocery lists (that was in French, of course) if we made spelling errors. I completely resented her for that then, but now I understand how annoying it is to read a text with errors in it.
I find poor spelling even more annoying now because since my students as such terrible spellers in French, most of them can't use the French-English dictionnaries (simple things like cuir/cuire, but sometimes much worse) |
liek srsly?
Urgh, yeah, I hate msn sometimes, because I have to ask people what their sentences mean because they leave out half the letters from words.
appparently, nm=nothing much
But nm could also be easily misinterpreted as =not much or = now masturbating.
