4 stars 1994: Catch Me If You Can (soundtrack, recorded in 1989) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J9SgGKvVps

Catch Me If You Can is Tangerine Dream's 19th soundtrack and their 50th album overall, recorded back in 1989 by the Edgar Froese & Paul Haslinger duo. The movie is a little-known, teen high school comedy and bears no relation to the later true life crime caper of the same name starring Leonardo Dicaprio & Tom Hanks.

3 stars 1994: Turn of the Tides - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeFQHH4SfyY

Turn of the Tides is Tangerine Dream's 22nd studio album and their 49th album overall (not counting the previous DVD/Video release: Three Phase). This album really does represent a Turn of the Tides too, as it's the beginning of a new era for Tangerine Dream, having now evolved from a duo into a quartet of Edgar & Jerome Froese, sexy saxophonist Linda Spa & guitarist Zlatko Perico, although he only appeared on this one studio album. The versatile and lovely Linda Spa would become a permanent fixture in Tangerine Dream's touring line-up, playing keyboards, saxophone, flute & clarinet, and she's also a semi-conductor too! Tongue

Track Listing:-

1."Pictures at an Exhibition"3:01
2."Firetongues"6:32
3."Galley Slave's Horizon"7:47
4."Death of a Nightingale"5:30
5."Twilight Brigade"9:45
6."Jungle Journey"6:34
7."Midwinter Night"4:38
8."Turn of the Tides"7:40

^ It looks like Jerome Froese was having a bad hair day when that picture was taken. Either that, or he's just emerged from a wind tunnel. Tongue

4 stars 1993: Three Phase: Live in America 1992 (DVD/Video) - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_n-2hTupDP4nYYRUkOFa2D6v6FRNZtB7nU

This is where keeping track of Tangerine Dream's mammoth discography begins to get a bit murky..... Three Phase is Tangerine Dream's 8th Live album and their 49th album overall,
or is it? Three Phase is actually a companion DVD/Video to their previous album - 220 Volts Live - filmed on their North American tour, and significant for being Tangerine Dream's first official DVD/Video release. The album link above is from a 2004 re-release of the album titled "Live in America 1992". Confused? I will be. Wacko

Track Listing:-

 1. Two Bunch Palms
 2. Dolls in the Shadow
 3. Treasure Of Innocence
 4. Oriental Haze
 5. Graffiti Street
 6. Backstreet Hero
 7. Phaedra
 8. Love on a Real Train
 9. Hamlet
10. Purple Haze
11. Logos

3 stars 1992: Rumpelstiltskin (audio book)

Rumpelstiltskin is a rare Tangerine Dream album, recorded as an audio novel for children and read by actress Kathleen Turner, which is a big enough inducement for me to go out and buy the album, just to hear Miss Turner's sultry tones again, having last seen her in the hot and steamy film noir, "Body Heat". Heart
Rumpelstiltskin was recorded by the father and son duo of Edgar & Jerome Froese, marking Tangerine Dream's 45th album overall, and very good it is too, if the sample video below is anything to go by. Thumbs Up

Unfortunately, this album is so rare that there's no link currently available for the full album on YouTube. Confused

Richard "Richi" Wester is the saxophonist on "Red Roadster," "Lifted Veil" and "Body Corporate."

Ten months in production...I don't hear anything that merited such a long interval. "Big City Dwarves" is the best cut (why it's also the first cut), but the rest isn't too memorable, though not necessarily any worse than Melrose.
Thanks for the info about the mystery saxophonist. I was tempted to give Rockoon a 4-star rating, but I guessed you'd probably tell me I'd over-rated it again, after being over-generous with my initial 4-star rating for the Melrose album. Wink

3 stars 1992: Rockoon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBEhINJwdE0

What do you get when you cross Rocky Racoon with Tangerine Dream? A Rockoon! This is Tangerine Dream's 21st studio album and their 44th album overall. Rockoon is notable for being the first Tangerine Dream album recorded by the father and son duo of Edgar and Jerome Froese. It's also worth mentioning that the previous year of 1991 was the only year so far not to see the release of a new Tangerine Dream studio or Live album, mainly due to Rockoon having spent ten months in production - the longest ever production time for a Tangerine Dream album to date. There were four belated soundtrack albums released in 1991 though, so more than enough there to keep TD fans happy. Rockoon may not be one of Tangerine Dream's more memorable albums, but it's certainly more welcome than having Rocky Racoon running loose in your house. Smile

Linda Spa joined Tangerine Dream in the early 1990's, but she's not credited on this album, so who's that playing the saxophone on several tracks?  Ermm

Track Listing:-

 1. Big City Dwarves  (6:00)
 2. Red Roadster  (8:30)
 3. Touchwood  (4:34)
 4. Graffiti Street  (5:04)
 5. Funky Atlanta  (4:00)
 6. Spanish Love  (5:40)
 7. Lifted Veil  (3:30)
 8. Penguin Reference  (4:45)
 9. Body Corporate  (3:40)
10. Rockoon  (7:21)
