Dick, the name of the subgenre is not the appropriate one. Venegoni & Co. were put there because they belong to the movement known as PRI or RPI (Italian Progressive Rock), which flourished in my home country in the Seventies. Odd Venegoni & Co are labelled here as 'Italian Symphonic Prog'. From the one and only album I have, Rumore Rosso - btw coincidently playing a track on Thursday night's radio show - I note from their liner notes they are part of the 'Turin Jazz Rock Society'.
