Just beautiful I actually stopped the Dungen album I was listening to, so I could hear it, I'm glad I did. BTW Do yoy know Dungen Pierre? I just remember you agreeing with me in regards to modern production values, and this band's albums all sound like they were made in 1970. They got that warm and vibrant live in the studio feell to them. They've got heart and a soul of their own: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HcmOht2O9A

I think that goes way back with your country Pierre. Music has always been cared for and nutured in France - in all of its facets.

Strange to see how the french people have always be passionate by the avant garde in rock and in jazz too. Kevin ayers was the first to say that.

YAY Pierre!!!!
You have just made me realise, that I need to ditch the Blood, Sweat and Tears album for this vid And you're right about the live aspect of Amon Düül ll. It should also be pretty obvious, when you listen to the first three albums, that the band was all about improv and jamming, which in essence actually just was them live in the studio. Though much more "polished"(if one could ever attach such a word with ADll), than this video. There is a rawness to it, that I really appreciate.

I knew that french video. The better sound I've ever heard. There is a dynamic that isn't inside the studio albums. I am really focused on the composition and not just on a mystic but a bit artificial improvisation. My fav amon dull ... by far.

Heh - I have so many opposites working alongside each other in terms of music. I consider myself a lucky man to appreciate such a widespread palette Hell I like Billy Holiday, Cannibal Corpse, Wu Tang Clan, Infected Mushroom, Michael J, Captain Beefheart, Faust, The Smiths, Marilyn Manson, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Area, James Brown, Amon Düül ll, Prodigy, Stockhausen, Dolly Parton, Neurosis, PFM, Dr. Dre, Grease, Pharaoh Sanders and the list goes on. The key is keeping it fresh and eclectic for me

BTW, for those who like the first Marquis de Sade, the second one, Rue de Siam is excellent too.

Thank you for your kind comment David! From Seven That Spells discography in addition of "Superautobahn", I would recommend mostly "The Men from Dystopia", which is available as amazing gatefold double vinyl . The earlier records from 2007 are quite nice vintage oriented jamming, and the more recent albums have quite aggressive touch and math rock leanings.

You know Pierre, I've really been digging those post punk vids of yours. Also helps that I'm a huge fan of punk in general though...
Regarding Can, I think I Iove every album of theirs up to Landed, and the next isn't really bad actually. Here's to those zany Germans Edited by Guldbamsen - February 28 2013 at 08:36 |

Speaking from a drummer's point of view: I absolutely adore Jaki as well. His last name directly translated into English actually means lovetime. I have always loved that fact for some reason... Anyway if you dig his style, more specifically on Future Days, then I wholeheartedly recommend you try out the next Soon over Babaluma, where he perfected that hypnotic calypso vibe. Also: if anybody out there is interested in some new music in the rocking krautrock vein, then try out Seven that Spells that literally will melt your brain away in a jiffy. I just got last years Superautobahn after reading Eetu's brilliant review. Edited by Guldbamsen - February 28 2013 at 08:35 |
