AWESOME NEWS from Mind's Eye
(from MS)
This is Daniel Flores of Mind's Eye reporting in.
These are hectic times and my studio has been booked with great bands and projects which are all going to be released this year. Anyway, Johan and I have found a new direction for a new album, heavy stuff with a little twist! I can't reveal much right now but it will kick the ass of A gentleman's hurricane and Walking on H2o. We have found a new direction and there is new exiting blood running in the veins of Mind's Eye right now. You guys can expect YOUNG blood on this next release. Out with the old and in with a new exiting facelift! We will start this fall on a new album with the title "The 7th outer body experiment" and it will include the heaviest stuff ever created/written by the band. |

Jupiter Society news:
(from ms)
Jupiter Society will release their new album, tentatively titled Terraforming, early this fall. Carl Westholm of Carptree once again gathered some of the most prominent Swedish musicians in his space project. Mats Levén (Yngvie Malmsteen, Therion, KRUX), Leif Edling (Candlemass) and other members of KRUX, Lars Sköld (Tiamat) among others.
One year after the last release: First Contact // Last Warning, Carl Westholm has written a science fiction themed concept album that starts where the first album ended. This time the orchestral arrangements will be moore perceptible and yet with heavy guitars. Jupiter Society is still grand in scope, majestic, panoramic, large scale symphonic progressive metal. |

Lord Of Mushrooms news:
(from MS)
Hi every one !
It's been a while since we posted some news about the band. Anyway, everything is going really well. Our 3rd album is nearly finished and we have just started rehearsing the new songs, which sound already really promising. This new record, as the two others, will be a concept album and will feature 9 tracks of pure progressive metal (with one extra song for our Japanese fans). The band will be performing live in Monaco on Friday, June 19th 2009 at the AJM, for those of you that will be around this place at the time. Also appearing will be Anthropia who has just release its second album "The Chain Reaction". Don't forget this date as you will get a glimpse of the new songs ! |

We are in good company on the CD with a brand new exclusive Dream Theater track alongside Black Seed by HAKEN. Look out for news of our debut album, scheduled for recording in the Summer and a label release in January 2010. |

Haken Update
(from MS)
Greetings and a massive 'Thank You' to all of you who have been enjoying the tunes on our page, keeping in touch via comments and messages and supporting us at our shows.
We have not been standing still this year. We were proud to welcome Diego Tejeida to our brotherhood, as our lead keyboard player. As well as our well received gigs in January, opening for KINGS X in Wolverhampton and The Electric Ballroom, headlning The House of Progression in March and an outing at The Purple Turtle, we have been busy writing the music and songs for our debut album. The writing is virtually complete. The album will consist of completely new material ,which we believe is a significant improvement on the current myspace tunes and will take us to the next level. We start the recording process in the Summer for a planned label release in January 2010. Thanks again for all your enthusiasm and your support for the band. All the best from - Charlie, Diego, Hen, Ray, Ross, Tom ENTER THE FIFTH DIMENSION |

Therion
(Our brother Jared will be extremely pleased to hear this news!! I'll PM him)
(from MS)
Out in Europe on June 5th! After the phenomenal last studio album "Gothic Kabbalah" (2007), easily THERION..s most stunning effort since "Theli", and the follow-up live CD "Live Gothic" (2008), THERION mastermind and only remaining founding member Christofer Johnsson decided to go for a rather special project: the band..s appearance at the remarkable and renowned International Opera Festival in Miskolc / Hungary in 2007 was taped on and off stage to preserve a truly unique classic metal event for the THERION fanbase! The first part – dubbed "Classical adventures" – features some of Christofer..s favourite composers (especially his alltime fave, Wagner) and does completely without guitars or any metal instrumentation whatsoever. Just orchestra and choir. Part two, "Therion songs", delivers exactly that: finest THERION material performed by the band, a huge orchestra and choir. Rounding off "The Miskolc Experience" is an entertaining documentary which gives insight in the complicated organisation and the no less complicated execution with all ups and downs for the involved crew and musicians. |

Frontiers Records announces the return of the Italian Prog Metal hopes MIND KEY with the release of the band’s second studio album entitled “Pulse for a Graveheart” on July 3rd in Europe, August 11th in the USA with a Japanese release to follow on King Records. Mind Key debuted in 2004 with Journey Of A Rough Diamond, an album that showed the excellent potential of the Neapolitan combo. With a colourful sound, akin to Prog Metal giants such as Dream Theater, Symphony X, Evergrey and Pain of Salvation Mind Key’s music also leaned towards a more mature and song oriented approach inspired by 80/90’s Hard Rock. Right before the release of the album the original singer Mark Basile left the group and in preparation of the tour dates, the guys met for the first time Aurelio Fierro Jr. a singer with a vast experience especially in theatres. He was able to give some splendid performances especially in the gigs that the band landed as support of Dream Theater for the Italian “Train Of Thought Tour 2004”. Mike Portnoy said: “These guys sound really excellent!” Mind Key played then more live dates in support of Vision Divine and Pendragon and also appeared at the Progpower Europe Festival with shows in Poland, Switzerland, Holland, Germany and France. During the Polish dates, a Live DVD was recorded “Habemus Poland”, with Giorgio Adamo as frontman. However he soon left to make space for the return of Aurelio Fierro. Founding member and keyboardist Dario De Cicco explains: “We decided to go for Aurelio at the end of the songwriting sessions. Note after note, chord after chord we realized that the songs begged for Aurelio’s voice and it seemed almost a necessary decision to make. I think we did the right choice as only with his astonishing performances we were able to reach what we really wanted from the new material”. The band began the recording of the second album “Pulse for a Graveheart”, simplifying their songwriting and giving the chance to Fierro to showcase his immense vocal potential which can be described as a powerful mix of Ronnie James Dio, David Coverdale and Jorn Lande. The album was later mixed and mastered by none other than Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Angra, Krokus, Place Vendome etc.) to ensure the best sounding quality. According to guitarist Emanuele Colella “We knew from the beginning that Dennis was the right choice! Since the first communication together a perfect synergy was built. He could understand our need and desire to combine a modern melodic metal sound with our progressive roots and an heavier edge. He could totally deliver what we and the music needed, he’s just great”. “Pulse for a Graveheart” also features some amazing guest musicians appearing such as Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Alice Cooper), who plays a keyboard solo on “Citizen of Greed”, Reb Beach (Whitesnake, Winger) on “Now Until Forever” and Tom Englund from Evergrey, dueting with Elio Fierro on “Graveheart”. Mind Key’s line-up now includes: Aurelio Fierro on vocals, Emanuele Colella on guitars, Dario De Cicco on keyboards and Andrea Stipa on drums. “Pulse for a Graveheart” introduces to the fans a completely re-designed band, with a mature attitude and astonishing songwriting. “I hope the new record will give Mind Key the chance to get rid of the label of «prog metal band in the style of....» and bring us to a different status. We aim to be a Metal band - still staying true to our diverse influences ranging from progressive to hard and melodic rock – but with a personal and trademark sound” concludes Andrea Stipa. Get ready for one the Prog Metal revelations of 2009! Final tracklisting includes: Sunset Highway; The Seventh Seal; Citizen of Greed; Crusted Memories; Dead Fame Hunter; Ventotene (The Island); Graveheart; Eye Of A Stranger; Now Until Forever; A New Generation. |
