3 stars 1998: The Hollywood Years, Vol. 1 (unused soundtracks compilation)

The Hollywood Years, Vol. 1 is Tangerine Dream's 61st album overall. It's actually a compilation, but don't let that put you off as the album features all-new material, consisting of unused soundtracks from dozens of films, all composed and performed by Edgar & Jerome Froese.

LOL

Amigo, you may very well find yourself falling into a perpetual trance during that undertaking. Big smile

If you like daunting propositions, I am really looking forward to you tackling Klaus Schulzes catalogue. For that expedition you'll have to pack extra provisions and say goodbye to friends and family. There are 50 discs in "The Ultimate Edition" alone.

3 stars 1997: The Video Dream Mixes (DVD/Video) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DcxcnI5YnI&t=3040s

The Video Dream Mixes is Tangerine Dream's 2nd DVD/Video. Follow Edgar Froese, Jerome Froese and Linda Spa on their great American road trip, when the nearest I've ever been to the USA is the American Adventure theme park on the site of an old colliery near Ilkeston, Derbyshire, although they've long-since saddled up and rode off into the sunset there. Confused

Thanks for the recommendation! Mars Polaris is Tangerine Dream's 67th album, so there's just seven more albums to go before I feature it here. Thumbs Up

2 stars 1997: Der Meteor (audio book)

Der Meteor is Tangerine Dream's 60th album and also one of their rarest, having been recorded for a series of German audio books for children, so you won't find this album in the record stores. Ultimately, Der Meteor fails to make much of an impact. Smile

Thanks Modrigue. Incredibly, that's the first time I've heard of Redshift and they sound amazing!  I'll add them to my Progressive Electronic A-Z playlist in place of RealTime (another German Berlin School band). By the way, we're fast-approaching Tangerine Dream's 60th album, so I reckon we're about a third of the way through their vast discography now.... And there was me thinking listing Rick Wakeman's vast backlog of albums would be my biggest challenge. At least I'll never have to listen to Rick's dreadful collaboration with Norman Wisdom again. Still, As Long as They're Happy, eh.  Tongue

Too much monkey business..... The jungle drums are beating for Tangerine Dream's 59th album: Ambient Monkeys. As the album title suggests, the music features the sounds of the rainforest overlaid with some of Tangerine Dream's mellower tunes, where you can expect to hear Tarzan swing by at any moment. Smile

Another weird one. This consists of "sound collages" the band assembled for pre-show playback while the venue was filling up. Then Edgar chose to release it. Confused

That's fair enough but I do think the whole thing is worth a listen (regardless of its source).

I cannot agree more. It's the most complete version there is!
