Supertramp easily in an unfair poll. The Raven is an astonishing prog epic too though.

I do think Supertramp was more radio friendly and pop oriented even before Genesis went down that path---

The Raven flies high over Supertramp, and that's not a crime. Although I enjoy Supertramp, they're too radio-friendly and pop-oriented to rank on the same level as Steven Wilson, one of the true musical visionariesof this century.

Crime by a country mile!! IMO it is a perfecrt album that sounds fresh and crystalline to this day. I'm one of the few that doesn't think Raven is a masterpiece, oh well.
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

Very hard. Supertramp has a bit more 'soul' so I voted for that but both are easily 5 star masterpieces in my book.

Not really a fair comparison from my own point of view.  I've been an avid admirer of that Supertramp album for most of my long life, while the Wilson album has only been a part of my life for a year or so.  Naturally, the Tramp has had more time to sink in.  But the Wilson is an excellent work whose stature will hopefully not diminish with time.

These 2 are constantly switching as the top "crossover prog" album, so I thought I'd see what you guys think. Currently, both have just short of 1000 ratings and are at 4.34 and 4.33. Both are incredible pieces of songwriting, and definitely progressive, but personally I'd go for Supertramp - just love every second, and each song keeps the standard on there so high.

Anyway, thanks for any feedback Big smile
