Ah very surreal cover - love the man pushing the stone up hill - a Philosophy lecturer told us it was representing the struggles of life, the absurdity of man's life with the Sisyphus myth who was condemned to repeat forever the same meaningless task of pushing a boulder up a mountain, only to see it roll down again. and then it begins again.... Albert Camus said: "The struggle itself is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy."
Haken will deliver on this album too.

Yeah, I had just mentioned him a few posts before. I bet that one is Sisyphus. |

Anyone else notice the guy on the left pushing the big boulder up The Mountain? Took me a while to notice.

I for one am really excited to see which direction Haken are headed, tremendous demonstration of talent on their records so far. I equally like !Aquarius" and "Visions" with a slight preference for the latter. Hopefully their tour covers convenient locations...

No, I find just about no connection with this cover and Roger Dean's work. Oh, just spotted the Sisyphus rolling the rock to the top of the mountain, still, I wouldn't say that makes it Deanish.

Does anyone else think that the cover image looks quite Roger Dean-ish? |

The full track listing is: The Path, Atlas Stone, Cockroach King, In Memoriam, Because It’s There,Falling Back To Earth, As Death Embraces, Pareidolia and Somebody. Commenting on the album, Richard Henshall (guitar/keyboards) and Charlie Griffiths (guitar) had this to say: “Lyrically, we’ve done a lot of soul searching which has given the album an emotional depth that we’re sure listeners will really relate to, whatever personal mountain they are climbing. “Musically, the new songs feel rawer and more emotional than anything we’ve created in the past. All the essential elements of our sound are still there, but have been delivered in a more gritty and focussed style”. The band will headline the second night of Danfest3, at The Musician in Leicester. This is on November 23. http://www.progrockmag.com/news/haken-get-ready-to-tackle-the-mountain/ |

I've always wondered why the band is not labeled prog-metal here, but it doesn't really matter I guess.
