Best female companion: Blackmore (whatsherface looks really nice, May has some old Eastenders actress)
So, based on this extensive analysis I have to say Blackmore is best

Her name is Candice Night, and she is friggin hot(OR was rather). Blackmore is definitely a better guitarist.

Blackmore's Night sort of is the difference to me. Absolutely love what he has done in that.

Thanks, Ed!
Syzygy:
The best - and most expensive - guitars are made of exceptional wood, like wood from 150 years old houses, doorsteps etc. But among guitarists May is not famous for that, but for tuning the circuits of his guitars in ways that were quite advanced at that time. Blackmore did nothing exceptional, compard to that.

Not much into either man's music, though I'd take Queen over Rainbow if I had to.
Ritchie Blackmore used to smash up his guitars in an entertaining fashion onstage, whereas Brian May made his guitar out of an old fireplace and uses old sixpenny bits as plectrums (plectra?) - on those grounds I choose Blackmore.

Blackmore.
How come it's only the May fans that are so narrow to tell how narrow the Blackmore fans are and not the other way around.???

As a guitarist I can tell you that May was much more inventive on the guitar than Blackmore. Also, queen is hardly a vocal oriented band, and not pop either. They were always a rock band, and May wrote some of the most popular guitar riffs/liks EVER.

May is more ecletic and diverse as a guitarist and as a songwriter. One of
my favourite bands is Deep Purple and Blackmore tend to get a litle bit
repetitive (DP live albums are full of inventive playing. he's best jams are
in MK3 CalJam and the Made in Europe - hes mixing a lot of blues in his
playing which is great - but Im talking about a 2/3 year period... when RB
created Rainbow he went back to his old formula). This is my opinion, I
think May has done a lot more for rock guitar, just listen to the heavy
metal licks of Sheer Heart Attack and I Want It All, the pop prowess of A
Kind of Magic and the epics Innuendo and Bohemian Rapsody (this is a 20
year period, my friends). But dont get me wrong, Blackmore is a good
guitarist. Cheers

I bought Blackmores solo album at the age of 14- it's brilliant.
No offence Anonymous2112, but the other times I've seen you on here, I get the impression you're a bitter and rather short-sited person. So...havn't been laid for a while then?
