Very sad news indeed. I'm sure he's showing J.S. Bach exactly how he did it about now...

I've seen him in early 90s when Deep Purple had Steve Morse at guitar. He was the true mastermind, the real Deep Purple sound and the perfect example of how an organ should sound in a hard rock band..

Just got done listening to "Lazy" from Machine Head. That hammond solo at the beginning always blows me away, as does all of Lord's work. The man was a marvelous musician, and will most certainly be missed.

I've been playing several Deep Purple cds(and one Whitesnake cd) in his honor: In Rock, Slide It In, Burn, Come Taste The Band, and Perfect Strangers.

I feel sorry for the poor sap that's hired to play church organ at Jon Lord's funeral.

One of rock's most distinctive keyboardists. Rest easy, Jon.

I wouldn't be what I'm today without Jon. All my passion for keyboard playing started with Jon's Hammond.
My friend told me the news on the phone. I am at a loss for words.

I haven't really gotten much into Deep Purple, though I know a tiny bit from them. However, reading this news, I knew it was the passing away of a titan. Irreplaceable.
