In Kermit Schafer’s bloopers collection “Bloopers, Bloopers, Bloopers” (Bell Publishing Co., New York, 1984) the following account of a blooper-that’s-not-actually-a-blooper can be found:

In Webster’s Dictionary the word “spoonerism” is defined as an unintentional interchange of syllables.  A well-known disc jockey was the victim of this tongue twister: “And now we have a new LP by Caravan—that pleasantly insane British group.  It is entitled ‘Cunning Stunts.’”

On one hand it was nice to see even this little bit of promotion for a favorite album that wasn’t terribly well-known, but still…

Really, Schafer?  Did he even bother to check to see if there actually was a group called Caravan that had an album by that actual title?  And even if he or any of his staff bothered to do the bare minimum of research, why would he think this was a spoonerism?  Did he honestly believe the actual title was…

Yet another "Carry On Wayward Son" reference.  This time in a commercial for Miller Lite.  (Not really unexpected because this ad's at least a couple months old and get shown about 1000 times a day on every freakin' channel.....)

Today on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered, there was a feature on New Orleans 10 years after Hurricane Katrina, and at the end they played a bit of an acoustic guitar instrumental version of Here Comes the Flood.  Anyone know who that might be?

This has been a source of debate elsewhere but around the mid-70s, a Thames ITV drama (UK) featured a character perusing the cover of Leg End by Henry Cow.  More recently, amazed to see Robert Fripp on prime time TV greeting his wife (Toyah) from the jungle on I'm a Celebrity!  While on the same programme, I was willing Steve Davis (famous UK prog fan) to discuss his love of Magma, RIO etc. with the other celebs but he obviously held back on that one!

Tonight’s episode of “Aquarius” includes a scene in a bar where the jukebox is playing “Playmate” by Pearls Before Swine.

I like the part where he hurts himself trying to drum along to Bruford.
