I don't repeat listen to anything. One listen no matter what. Then I come back to it another day. |

Just received my digital 24 bit download this morning (I pre-ordered the vinyl)
The level of excellence that went into the creation of this masterpiece is just breathtaking. The musicianship...arrangements....vocals...lyrics and the mixing/mastering exceeded even my expectations. My headphones have been glued to my head since early this morning and I'll be living in this new musical world they've created for some time now. Past Gravity is probably the most "beautiful" song echolyn has ever done. Island just screams in my head. Some Memorial is haunting and thrilling. Lampblack takes me to another dimension. When Sunday Spills is disturbing, brilliant and sad. Locust to Bethlehem makes me want to find those street and walk them (and I just might). Headright gives me the urge to drive with my sunroof open and windows down. The Cardinal and I is sublime. Congrats to the best echolyn album...ever. (and yes....it's better than mei) |

The album is being previewed live here and it sounds fantastic! EDIT: I'm pretty sure my pre-order money was well invested even if Island turns out to be the only good track. EDIT II: They'll be spreading all eight tracks out through the three hour broadcast so you have plenty of time to hop on board (and a rebroadcast tomorrow if you miss it). EDIT III: The bookend tracks of the first disc (Island and Some Memorial) are just incredible, and the filling (not filler) in between is quite tasty as well. Preordered my vinyl the day after preorders opened... Been waiting 6 years for this! Does anyone know what the cover artwork looks like? I saw this dark window-like design on the preorder page, does that have something to do with it?

"Echolyn release finally coming" sounds erotic.
But I like Echolyn, and I'll be looking forward to this.
