Well, St Anger (what a name for a CD...) deserve a 0/10 note, but a lot of album also get that note...
I think nothing will ever top the sh*it that came out of the 80's...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

When I heard St. Anger, my first reaction involved wanting to punch the
producer and engineer that thought "We've got the snare sounding like
exactly like a rubber dodge ball rebounding off a brick wall...
PERFECT!"
My second reaction was... when you make an album that's so obviously
an attempt to sound like the bands you originally _influenced_
(Slipknot, Mudvayne, etc.)... it's time to f**king wrap it up.
HORRIBLE album. I'm sure there's worse, though.

It's NOT the worst CD ever! There are probably 2.000.000 CD's that is worse than this. I like the album but it's nothing compared to "Black Album" and "Master of Puppets".

I'm not a Metallica fan, but you can get a one CD(-r) full of great tracks from their 80's career. Their "re-loads" and "whiskies in a jar" are terrible. Compared to these St.Anger is a masterpiece (IMO).

I like metallica, saw them 15 times on stage, I only listened once to St.Anger, I threw it away, says Disposable Heroes.

I think it is not even Metallicas worst, as I would go with Load. Definitely not a good album, but not the worst ever thats for sure.

Not the worst album ever, but it's not a bad contender for it.

Agreed.
Worst album ever - no way
Worst Metallica album - yes (although ReLoad comes close)
every great band deserves a bad album though.

I like St. Anger, although I think that the production is too trashy. Of course the "trashiness" was deliberate, but I think it was just way over the top. Also, the rhythm guitars are terribly out of tune ... every professional guitarist SHOULD know that when downtuning, you have to use stronger strings to maintain the proper tension.

I think that St Anger is a great album, I love it! I prefer it to the "Black" album. I think it was quite a brave album and they got totally bashed for it.
