Mammoth should have at least a 4 star rating here. Everyone seems to like it, and it made many best-of 2011 lists. But people rated it lower because previous albums were better... If everyone did that there'd be more albums with lower ratings. I thought Mammoth was a 5 star effort, along with SiT2 and DS. The band has been on a roll since SiT2.
SiT1 was a 4 star effort, and I have yet to hear the Sane Day (it's a double album?)
I dont want to hear the new song they have, I will wait until the album is released.
For me, liking an album is only a 2 or 3 star affair, depending how much I like it.

And a very interesting, but good, one at that. I was lucky enough to find a basically-new copy of this at Amoeba in LA, and this being my first Beardfish album, I was instantly hooked on this band.

Seems like they're going down the heavier road they started down on mammoth. Not that I mind - music sounds good so far (based on a singles YouTube video of an audience recording listened via iPhone speakers). Might not live up to Destined Solitaire, but then again, Yes never did anything as good as Relayer afterwards but that didn't stop them from making more great records.
