I would've put Jesus Christ Superstar. It started out as a rock opera

Not that it would make any kind of contemporary best of list but imo Kevin Gilbert's The Shaming of the True is one of the best rock operas ever.

Oh how surprising and unique it features The Who's boredom fest in the top spot...

Most of these aren't even rock operas... A true rock opera would need more than one singer and interaction between the characters...

And Marilyn Manson's a rock opera

Lol the list has ICP on it, and I'm supposed to take it seriously?

I HATE Styx
I dislike Burzum
I LOVE Mindcrime
Tommy's alright but it bores me halfway through.
Really dig Ziggy
Bat out of Hell didn't strike me as a rock opera, but I love it anyway.
Interesting inclusion of Manson's Antichrist Superstar. It's not my favorite by him, but I like it well enough.
I don't give a good goddamn about any of the others in the least.
Also don't give a good god damn if it's prog or not.

Where the hell is Jesus Christ Superstar? Where are Ayreon, Savatage, Pain of Salvation. Where's Ziltoid? I can understand why none of these bands are present, but excluding Jesus Christ Superstar seems criminal.

Hell no!

Where's the Pretty Things' S.F. Sorrow,  Quadraphonia, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Wall, Scenes From A Memory. A Bat Out Of Hell has to be one of the most overproduced albums of all time. Kilroy Was Here.LOL What a joke.

First of all, I can't believe Burzum made the list....hell yeah

I agree with Operation:Mindcrime for sure...

tons of stuff i would add.

I don't count Bat Out Of Hell as an opera, or Meatloaf as prog now that I think about it, but it wasn't a prog-specific list.
Iv'e got sXe!!!

A great list to check out, good bands like Queensryche and Styx made the top ten.

Do yall agree with the list?
