As I posted Alice and Bauhaus then I would say 'Poison' is, absolutely pop.  Just cos it has guitars and long hair doesn't make it anythin other than pop in my book.  Bauhaus I posted  as I said because it reminded me of another thread so guilty as charged.  But eve Bauhaus get poppy sometimes (Ziggy, Kick in the Eye).
 
The Police are Pop pure and simple for the majority of their career.    Of course I have a different book to you mind.

yes indeed, Police, Thin Lizzy and AC/DC, Talking Heads, Alice Cooper and Bauhaus have never been pop in my book.
