Looking forward to this (one of my fav bands)! I wonder if they will change sound as much, as on their previos album, wich was awesome.

I like Allen's ability to switch back and forth between growls and clean vocals, because the growls aren't bad in themselves and the combination of the two works well sometimes. I hate it when he just growls the whole time, though, like he did for most of Paradise Lost; he has a great voice when he does sing, and it seems like he's just wasting it.

I've always loved that about Symphony X though.  The ability he has to both growl and sing with an incredible range.  I agree though that the "angry" mood with some bands now a days is totally necessary, but I don't think they fall into that category.

Exactly my thoughts... these news really excited me a lot... I want to hear what else they can bring out after such a great album, the Paradise Lost was... Headbanger

I will not listen to the album if Russell Allen decides to growl his way through it.  The dude has such an amazing vocal range, but I hate it when he wastes it on trying to sound dark and sinister.  Judging by the cover of the album and the titles of the songs, I'm suspecting that this might be the case.  I'm so tired of this recent trend of power/progressive metal bands trying to sound morose when previously they actually made uplifting music that sold just as well, if not better.

I knew they were releasing a new album, but I didn't know the details. Their last albums was pretty great so I'm looking forward to hearing this one!

That's apparently the tracklist for the special edition. The regular edition is one CD (with two of the songs from the second CD of the special edition included on the regular tracklist).

A double album! Now I'm excited.

I saw them live wednesday night and Dehumanized and Prometheus are excellent songs.
Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005
