Tough call but I gotta go with The Knife. It's my favorite song on Trespass.

No doubt in my mind, Knife-Edge, though both are powerful songs.

The Knife, though both are excellent.

the knife is absolutely great. knife edge is just as agressive as the first one i think. by those times, ELP, was more consistent than genesis, it was genesis´ 2nd album, and they were creating their progressive sound, while it was the first ELP album, and they were already there so progressive to me. i like ELP self album better than Trespass, but the knife really stands out of Trespass alone.
so, tough call.
i like knife edge better, i have to admit that. but the knife is a masterwork of progressive rock as well.   if i could vote right now, i´d vote for knife edge.

"Knife-Edge" is pretty sweet, but "The Knife" is a progressive rock masterpiece. Love that guitar solo by Anthony Phillips during the middle section! Never again would Genesis sound so ferocious.
