That song 'Traces' is really growing on me. I am hearing it for the 4th time now, and it really is unique. Very patient and lulling, building gradually and the chorus is fabulous, especially that odd time signature. What is that in... 4/6? Vocals are reflective and there is an ambient atmosphere with a synthetic flute sound, and a loud guitar rhythm backed by soaring lead guitar, I would say similar in some ways to David Gilmour's Pink Floyd lead breaks.
I am glad I stumbled across this!
Great! I am glad you stumbled across it too!
Yeah, that odd time signature in the chorus is intentionally there to unbalance the musical message. Fantastic vocal from Marc too. Love Brendans keyboard solo on this too, one of the highlights of the album for me. Any comparison with Gilmour is ultra-flattering ... a hero of mine for sure.
Cheers!

Having a listen on official youtube clips!
Hope you don't mind me posting these so everyone here can have a listen...
No problem!
TRACES is from the new album just released and features the new lineup (inc myself, Marc Atkinson, Brendan Eyre, Neil Quarrell), this video was created by Steve Cozart. more videos from the new album will be coming soon. I am filming some footage this week for a video for 'Falling To Pieces' from the new album REMAINING DAYS and DROWNING NOW are from the first album ST LO released in 2008 on which I played and sang everything myself. This album has a very different feel to the new material.
