Plus, she has a smokin' hot wife.

In my opinion.

Please tell me you're joking. You're the last person on here I would expect to be judgmental.

I'm fairly certain you misunderstood what Slart was saying (which he didn't word well).

I think he meant he was a fan of hers even before she came out on TV and soon became much more famous.

Indeed.  I first saw her stand up on Comedy Central many years ago.  I was trying to make a joke there, too. LOL
I had the hots for her back then and still do.  I really like her sense of humor.

Ah. Well, that was in the back of my mind, but I figured he would have simply worded it as you did if that was what he meant. Embarrassed

The English language is an often ambiguous one.

Women tend to be more advanced linguistically earlier on than men, so they don't find as many things funny as men do.  Hell, I laughed a good 5 minutes at the word "poot" today.  No context.  Just a funny word.

Say it a dozen times.  Bet my last beer you smile.

Poot.

Then again there's not too many comedians I like.

Alot of the male ones are terrible.
*obligatory Dane Cook is the worst thing to get on a stage comment*

^ See, I don't agree with that. I think Cook can be really unfunny for long periods, but then he'll hit me with something that just kills.

But hey, sometimes I feel like the joke wasn't worth the long wait, so he's definitely not for everybody. LOL

Well, okay. You got me, there. But I guess since I've seen her in so many movies, sitcoms, commercials and her own talk show, it's hard for me to think of her as a 'Stand-Up' comedian before any of those other things.

But yes, I find her very funny.

Quite right- Wanda Sykes is a loudmouth and as informed as she is humorous.  I don't mind liberal comics getting political at all, but if you're going to insult me, you'd better be funny.

Ellen- though I of course would disagree with her politics- is the funniest woman on television in my opinion.  She doesn't really get political (or sexual) though, even in a lot of her stand-up.
One of her HBO specials we caught was decidedly PG. Keeping things clean and hilarious shows real talent.
