I'm pretty selective about what I buy these days, especially as I have a young family to support on a limited public sector salary, so I only have one album off the list, The Pineapple Thief, which I have enjoyed a lot. I do intend to get the Karnataka LP soon, but I can't really vote.
Other 2010 purchases for me are Hackett's new album, which is incredible, The Reasoning, a solid 4 star work, Asia's new one, and Gabriel's Scratch my Back, which I love.

Yeah, that's pretty good. I've only really heard Pain of Salvation out of these. It's a pain to try to keep up on 2010 albums when I'm trying to get into other genres. Especially when prog is so spotty. Any given album that's highly regarded I'm likely to be indifferent to. I might try Karnataka, though.

It's a bit unfair to start this poll early when we've yet to wait 10 more days for Demians album "Mute" to be released, although the leak is available. Still, my vote goes to it since it goes in many directions and work great for me. 2nd place goes for Anathema's "We're Here Because We're Here", while Ihsahn and Myrath fights for 3rd place although I haven't digested it all yet.

This year started very good with my two favourite albums of 2010 being released in early 2010, but nothing as interesting came since then. I would rate One-Armed Bandit and Clivages with ***** (though I might rate them 9/10 on a decimal scale) and give **** to Coyote and Heavy Metal Fruit, which I enjoy. Nothing except for Alcest's album has attracted my attention so far, I'll try that.

I must say, some artists (or their labels) are trying very hard this year to make it almost impossible for me to get to listen to their music. Well, I guess arrogance begets ignorance.

I have 10 albums of this list, the rest I don't know (yet...). My top 3 of the ones I know is:
1. Anathema - We're here because we're here 2. Haken - Aquarius 3. Karnataka - The Gathering Light
Also the new Vanden Plas is very good! (not in the list)

I'm yet to hear Coyote, but so far my favorite is Ecailles De Lune. Beautiful album, I give it 4.5 stars.

I really enjoy Clivages, so it's my pick. The Kayo Dot album would be my second of the listed albums, I think, while Xing Sa's album Creation de l'Univers would probably be my first choice if it was present. It's a wonderful Zeuhl/fusion album.
| Creation de l'Univers is certainly an album for me to get .

I've only heard a few albums from this year, but my favourite remains the first 2010 album I heard, which is Univers Zero's Clivages. I think it's a very good album by a very good group. I like Coyote too.
