Which album do you think will have the best album art in 2010?

My money is on one of the metal bands. I've just seen the Wavering Radiant vinyl today and it's amazing. Clap

Honestly, Steven Wilson does TOO MUCH MUSIC. He should be saving all his material for the next Porcupine Tree CD. He must know that the general population thought that The Incident  wasn't as good as their previous 3.

Aww, show some love for our project, too! Cry

If anything, you should be curious to see if it sucks or not, since it's my first attempt at anything like this. LOL

Hi,

I would actually like to see a little less weird/fanlike questions ... and specially some folks that think they just discovered the wheel and the rest of us all are stupid!

Less "prog" ... and more "music" and more "art" ... but I think there are way too many people wanting to turn the knife on Jon Anderson for Tales of Topographic Oceans ... and the like!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

What I'm expecting....

-Year Of The Black Rainbow by Coheed and Cambria to kick some serious ass.  "The Broken", the newest song just put out and the first track on the album, is maybe the best "short-but-prog-as-hell" song I've heard.

-ELP doing a performance for a festival?!  SWEET!

-Jon Anderson announces when he'll be with Yes again

-new Crimson stuff?

-I get into The Mars Volta

-I pick up an obscure obsession
"and if the band your in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon"

A new King Crimson album that were supposed to be out in 2008?

"non-prog" (I HATE THAT WORD)
Red Hot Chili Peppers in the studio! (unfortunatly without Frusciante)
Soundgarden reunited!

Big smile

You should consider marking the ones that are already released, like ORwarriOR.

I'm really confused by the capitalisation of "are" in the thread title. Emphasis on this word suggests exasparation and derision, as though what we are expecting is absurd, as in "What ARE they thinking?"

Here here.  I'm gonna go insane waiting for that album.  I'm not listening to any single they put out (I ruined The Running Free for myself last time) or even looking at the tracklisting this time.  I'm gonna have that album be a 100% new experience the moment I get it.

I don't know if this has been mentioned.... I looked at the first 5 pages of the Thread but Sun caged are planning on releasing a new album this Summer

http://www.suncaged.com/home.html

Besides that there is Rhapsody of Fire confirmed. There are Too many TBA albums from prog bands to mention last time I checked wikipedia.

I really look forward to a new Fates Warning Especially since they got back Frank Aresti, Though Matheos was always the main writer maybe that''ll help being their traditional sound back a bit, Also they plan to Re-Release Paralels with a Bonus DVD on March 16th, and have some reunion shows with Its Lineup.

Eh, I share your trepidation on that one. For me the big thing about Bantam to Behemoth is the masterful combination of almost zeuhl-esque fusion with textbook symphonic prog, in a way that neither ever really sounded out of place and the flow was incredible (also the song writing was incredible, the instruments impressive, emotionally rocketing around between beauty and chaos, etc...). I'm worried that either he might not pull it off as well, or that he might pull it off just as well. Much as I love the album, a part 2 wouldn't have anywhere near the same magic.

Any sort of date for the new album yet?

You can put a new Cynic EP on the confirmed list.

I met Paul Masvidal after the Between the Buried and Me concert (where Cynic was one of the openers) and he told me that they have a new EP set to be released in April.
He also said that the full-length album was to follow shortly after.  I would assume this means before 2010 is over but I'm not 100% certain.

A Weidorje live album, recorded October 14, 1978 at Rombas (Moselle) should appear in 2010 on the Soleil Zeuhl label.
