Their first three albums are the only ones I've heard.
First: 10 (masterpiece) Second: 8 (excellent) Third: 8 (excellent)

Huh? Paranoid? It has NOTHING to do with it! Paranoid for me is like their debut, just a bit less gloomy and a bit better more elaborated, also a bit more straight-forward hard rock/heavy rock(Iron Man/Paranoid)
|
I think the 2 albums are pretty similar, and i don't think it's just me. But hey, that's your opinion. I just find it very odd
|
It's not that Master of Reality is bad per se, it's just not my cup-of-tea. If I would rate it objectively, would probably give it 4 or 5 stars.
BTW, I do like the riffs *at the begining* it's just that after the promising begining it goes way too dense and heavy. Paranoid on the other hand has War Pigs which changes times a lot of times, the same for Faires Were Boots, Rat Salad, and one or 2 more I think.
|
The intro riff in "Into the Void" might be my favorite Sabbath riff And almost every song on Master of Reality changes tempo aswell
|
Yeah but nothing as interesting as the songs from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Sabotage, or even Faires Were Boots and War Pigs.
And yeah, Into The Void's riff is excellent, that's why I hear it every now and then, but I really don't get a good kick out of the entire song pittily.
|
I don't really like "Sabotage" that much But whatever, i'm off now! C'ya!

Sinkadotentree words: "I suppose that was because it was so heavy and straightforward"

1. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
2. Heaven and Hell
3. Paranoid
4. Cross Purposes
5. Sabotage
6. Black Sabbath
7. Mob Rules
8. IV
9. Tyr
10. Masters of Reality
11. Headless Cross
12. Eternal Idol
13. Dehumanizer
14. Technical Ecstasy
15. Never Say Die
16. Forbidden
I know, I didn't really rate them, just put them in order from fav to least fav, but let's say the top is 5 stars and the bottom is about 1.5 stars. And I really like everything up through #13. Only the last three are albums I could do without.
I knew I was forgetting an album or two. Born Again...place that between Tyr and MoR, and Seventh Star between NSD and Forbidden.

You really are silly. And serious this time! The riffs are pure awesomeness. But not too heavy, there's still alot of blues in there. How about "Orchid" or "Solitude"?
