I'd like to mention Moon Safari's Blomljud.

A stand-out star amongst a lot of other beautiful albums.

in prog I get this feeling from the acoustic albums of Steve Hackett mostly, but it could be argued they are not prog at all

@keiser wilhelm, The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place, is one of the most beautuful albums of all time. But I think that Agaetus Byrjun by Sigur Ros is the most beautiful album. Even more than ( ).

curently i am hooked on dawn-loneliness..it is a fantastic album.!!!
pity the band is underrated and got average reviews because of their comparison to camel..and i think comparisons are not a very good thing in music because it puts certain expectations on the listener..the best thing is to listen to any prog album without any preconceptions or expectations and let the music speak for itself..regardless of any  similarities or influences,

I just listened to "666" by Aphrodite's Child and that was a gorgeous album. The Greek instrumentation was a nice touch as well.

Some other lovely sounding prog albums in my opinion...

Yes- "Magnification"
Fruupp- "Seven Secrets"
Caravan- "Waterloo Lily"
Pink Floyd- "Meddle"
Premiata Forneria Marconi- "Per Un Amico"

Paatos is absolutely fantastic. The vocalist is one of my favorite female prog singers.

Genesis' Trespass, with the exception of The Knife...
Yes' Disc 1 of Tales, for me is beautiful
The already mentioned Camel albums too...
Tull's Thick as a Brick part 1 is pretty much beautiful too...
Supertramp's Even in the quitest Moments...

Though, honestly, I can find more songs, rather than entire albums, being beautiful...

Both are fantastic and undoubtly my two WR favorites. But especially the latter is pretty chaotic and out there at times. For sheer beauty I think Return To Forever's debut and Light as a Feather would work better. Maybe In a Silent Way and Get Up With it, both by Miles Davis too.

Sticking to prog that's easy on the ears: Tonton Macoute's only, Skin Alley's first, both by Cressida and the swedish Ragnarök's folky debut are stunning (so is Continuum).

Celeste's (Principe di Giorno), Roberto Zappa (Celestion) and Le Orme's (Collage) debuts and the one off by Campo di Marte and Luciano Basso are more italian, not to complex beauties for topicstarter.

Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me
Don't believe in me

Fellow prog fans tend to disagree, but Genesis' From Genesis To Revelation strikes me as a beautiful album. It's not aggressive or complex at all, but it's all just calm, nice music.

I personally don't think it's better than others, but it is certainly more beautiful.

2008's "Saena" from SAENA is sheer beauty to me, a refurbished type of symphonic prog that feels very creative, intense, emotional... and beautiful, indeed.
