After the intensive promotion of "Anno Domini High Definition" Riverside goes back to composing new material. And although ADHD's successor is to be released no earlier than 2012, some cool things are being prepared for the upcoming year. "We've begun working on the new album, or actually two albums. Because except for the usual long album we'd also like to release a minialbum," says Mariusz Duda. "Why? Well, the band was formed in 2001 so next year it's our tenth birthday. We'd like to celebrate and highlight this anniversary in some way. So next year we're planning to go on anniversary tour not only with invited guests but also something more--a release specially prepared for this occasion, only available at the concerts. So now we're working both on the new album and the above mentioned EP. A short break was good for us because now we have really good ideas."

Brazil’s premier rock band MINDFLOW have announced that they have signed two major US recording deals within the past few months: earlier this year, Mindflow signed a management deal with Frank James’ Rage On Stage Management which has now led them to sign with Nightmare Records who will release the band’s fourth studio album, With Bare Hands, early next year. Nightmare Records President/Founder, Lance King comments: “I had worked with Mindflow in some capacity throughout the band’s career, even before they released their first album. I’ve watched them evolve and had the pleasure of knowing them not only as an amazingly talented band, but also as true gentlemen. When I was approached about releasing this new album, my answer was very simply ‘yes’.” Mindflow Guitarist Rodrigo Hidalgo also comments: “Being with Nightmare gives us an opportunity to reach a much wider audience and to become part of the US music industry. We are all aware that in order to truly break through, we are going to have to do it in the US, European and Asian markets as well as South America. This record deal gives us that opportunity.” The new album With Bare Hands, features most tracks produced by Ben Grosse (MARILYN MANSON, SLIPKNOT, DISTURBED) and the others by the band themselves. Nightmare will release the album in February, 2011. The band plans to tour extensively throughout next year. Edited by progmetalhead - November 14 2010 at 03:35 |

Sensory Records has announced the signing of CYNTHESIS. The band's debut album, "DeEvolution", is scheduled for release in the spring. The CD is currently being mixed by talented producer/engineer Dino Alden (Marty Friedman, Tony Macalpine, Vinnie Moore, ZERO HOUR). The artwork will be created by Dennis "Damn Engine" Sibeijn (EXODUS, DRAGONFORCE, LAMB OF GOD, HIM).
CYNTHESIS is an entirely new band of its own, which also reunites three of the original members of progressive metal purveyors ZERO HOUR — founding twin brothers Jasun and Troy Tipton and original vocalist Erik Rosvold — for the first time on a recording since the band's heralded 2001 album "The Towers of Avarice" and 2003's "Metamorphosis", both still considered landmark releases in the progressive metal community. After reaping massive critical acclaim from major international metal media, ZERO HOUR successfully toured Europe and performed at two different ProgPower USA festivals, the band parted ways with Erik Rosvold, disappointing diehard fans of the band across the globe. In late 2007, Jasun began writing material for CYNTHESIS. As the music developed he could only imagine one vocalist to really connect to the material. "I've always been a fan of Erik's vocals and I knew his lyric-writing would be a perfect match for the material," explains Jasun. After one phone call Erik was brought into the fold. Rounding out the lineup on drums is longtime friend Sean Flanegan, who not only played on Jasun's 2000 instrumental release, "Night's Pulse", but is best known for his amazing work with prog-rock heroes ENCHANT. Sure to be a label priority for the new year, "DeEvolution" tells the story of an elite group of leaders from a heavily industrialized city who find, brainwash and then exploit an indigenous tribes shaman, believing he would be the perfect supreme leader. By propping him up as possessing all the answers to societies ills the elites use him in order to gain and keep more control over the masses. They plan to influence the masses on several fronts: religion, media, consumerism, government. Jasun Tipton adds, "CYNTHESIS allows us to explore new creative venues which provides a deeper listen. The band is very proud of 'DeEvolution'." CYNTHESIS is: Jasun Tipton - Guitar, Keyboards Troy Tipton - Bass Erik Rosvold - Vocals Sean Flanegan - Drums For more information, viist www.myspace.com/cynthesisband. |

Hello world,
Because we're feeling like genuinely nice guys (and girl) at the moment, we've decided to hold a 7 day campaign where we letting anyone around the world download HEMINA's debut EP, 'As We Know It', for FREE! That's right, FREE! There's not many things you can get for free these days. Sunsets, moonlight, sunrises, movies, pornography, welfare payments, music, television, programs, cars (if you can hotwire), etc. etc. So we've deci...ded to add HEMINA's EP to the list! Now there is one tiny little catch! Once you give the EP a download and listen, we would really appreciate it if you could give us some feedback about your HEMINA experience, whether it be via e-mail, facebook, myspace, skywriters, pigeon messengers, or chinese whispers. Oh, and if you could invite your friends to this event invite so they can also download the EP, that'd be hugely appreciated! And we also ask if you can post a link to the download wherever you can to get this thing out as far as possible! Ok, so first of all, here's the download link: http: If you click the link above, the download should start immediately. Once you receive it, just unzip it and enjoy the Heminal tones! To leave your feedback, please use any of the following links: Facebook: http: Myspace: http: E-mail: heminamusic@ And if you wish to purchase a physical copy of the EP (or a sexy looking t-shirt), please visit: http: Thank you for your time everyone! And remember, the link will only be up there for 7 days! =) |

Threshold will record the new volume at Thin Ice Studios in the UK, with production as usual by Karl Groom and Richard West. Pagan's Mind
Cheers to the world! I know it's been a long time since you heard from us. We have been very busy doing the final touches on the forthcoming album. It's been quite a hectic year in fact, it usually is when we are silent. The beginning of the year was mostly about conceiving ideas and do pre-productions. We recorded ahelluvalot back then, too. And again from this spring we have been busy recording both in our hometown Skien and in Trondheim at Keep of Kalessin's studio. Now I can finally announce that Nils, Stian and Jorn Viggo are back from the mixing sessions in Stockholm, Sweden. Stefan Glaumann at Toytown Studios (known for prods as Rammstein, Madonna, Within Temptation etc.) once again took on the task to mix our new album. In September we did a couple of gigs here at home, playing Drammen, Hamar and Trondheim with awesome response. Good turnout and nice people, and thanks to our happy-faced merch man we are totally out of merch at the moment, but fear not. Within a fourthnight there will be plenty in stock. The only few gigs we did abroad this year went well, too. We played three gigs in The Netherlands and one big in-door festival in Mons, Belgium as special guests for Scorpions. Loads of friends playing good sets, too; such as Ivanhoe Virus IV, Adagio and of course England's Pythia, who supported us on all these gigs. Nice people, nice bus... We recently finished our cooperation with our old label, and in that regard we are ready to work with a new label. Anyone with a serious offer should go to our booking page for info and contact. There will be a studio report coming your way within a couple of weeks! Until then, cheers and be kind to one another. Your friend, Steinar |

This just brought a huge woot! from me
Norwegian metallers COMMUNIC are currently preparing the final writing details for their follow-up to 2008's "PAYMENT OF EXISTENCE". The band is planning to start the recording process early 2011. The band is hoping for a June 2011 release.
Comments Oddleif: "I am really excited about this new material that we have put together for this new album. There is still some work left, but we are getting closer. I think the heaviness of these songs will surprise many of you, and the overall feeling of it, is way darker this time. The songs are shorter, more in your face and may seem straight forward at first, but there are many twists and turns that will just creep under your skin. This album is DEEP! I know that many of you have been waiting for this album for a long time already, but everything has its time, and the time is now. Never before have I left so much of "myself" in our songs - never before has the price been so high - this album will be really special". And today, Nuclear Blast offers a free download of "On Ancient Ground" FREE DOWNLOAD |

Appearance Of Nothing
New album “All Gods Are Gone”, featuring Devon Graves (Psychotic Waltz) and Dan Swanö (ex Edge of Sanity/ Nightingale) out January 21st.
“...the album has a considerably more aggressive and more modern attitude. Not only the sound but also the collaboration with vocalist Dan Swanö (ex Edge of Sanity/Nightingale).“ “... This is one seriously good recording, although with a more modern approach this new release should see the band attracting new fans as well as keeping their current fan base more than happy. A truly epic release...” |

Seventh Wonder - The Great EscapeCatalog Number: LMC295 Release Dates: 03.12.2010 6419922002957 One of the most anticipated releases in the progressive metal genre is released on December 3rd 2010. Having built a reputation as one of the most exciting, skilled and enthralling metal acts currently on the scene as well as making a name for themselves with potent live performances Sweden Rock Festival and two shows at the prestigious ProgPower USA, Swedish progressive metal masters Seventh Wonder have raised the bar even further with “The Great Escape”. This spectacular new album is a continuation of where the band left us last with 2008’s “Mercy Falls”. The band’s trademark first class melodies and great choruses are still in focus along with astonishing lead work from all musicians throughout the CD. Yet there is for the first time in Seventh Wonder history a really epic track on the album with the adventurous title track that clocks in at 30 minutes. The story of this track is based on the epic space saga Aniara, written in 1956 by Swedish Nobel Prize winner Harry Martinson. The band even obtained written permission from the author’s daughter who holds the copyright, to use phrases from the original book after hearing a few Seventh Wonder tracks and liked them. The rest of the lyrics on the album sees the bands usual wide variety of topics dealing with everyday life and challenges in our modern society, as well as more fictional stories and historical themes. Some other novel musical excursions also appear on the album, while staying true to the Seventh Wonder formula of writing music. Sonically the new album is somewhat drier than its predecessor “Mercy Falls” and in that sense more reminiscent of the sound on “Waiting In The Wings”, a more guitar driven sound. The sound is still very clear such that all instruments are clearly audible, as we have come to expect from Seventh Wonder releases with the album being a great reflection of the power the band possess in the live arena. Never an act to stand still the band wanted to try something new this time. The new stuff constitutes about half of the albums playing time and is made up of the aforementioned epic title track on one hand and the slow, almost poppy song “Long Way Home” on the other, featuring Jenny Karevik on additional vocals and Andreas Blomqvist playing fretless bass, adding to the different feel of the track. If these two tracks represent the new flavour, then the rest of the songs are exactly what you would expect from Seventh Wonder, only newer and better. In the build up to release the band made their first promotional video for the song “Alley Cat” which scored over 20,000 hits on YouTube within 14 days of upload and at the time of writing has had over 35,000 hits. A clear sign the band are ready to move to the next level in terms of popularity. “The Great Escape” features some new flavours for the Seventh Wonder fans indeed, but always staying true to the formula that have gained them thousands of fans around the globe; -technically advanced progressive metal with hooks and melodies to die for. MUSICIANS Andreas Blomqvist – Bass Johan Liefvendahl – Guitar
