I would be interested in "Dead Air for Radios" (Chroma Key) covered by Gabriel, especially Mouse (Now Watch What Happens). Or "Go" by O.S.I. Yes, I admit that sometimes I think Moore sounds a bit like Gabriel. Other would be Pain of Salvation's "Enter Rain". No classic prog here!

But another studio album is my favourite option.. come on Peter! LOL

That said, he should cover the entirety of A Trick of the Tail Tongue

I couldn't agree more. What is it with all the artists doing covers? Running out of inspiration or what!!
More studio work pleaseConfused

I think it is absolutely mandatory that he cover a PC-era Genesis tune...hopefully he will pick one of the better tunes...That's All or Abacab would be cool, although I wouldn't mind him having a go at Mama or Domino.  Or maybe even something from ATOTT would be pretty cool, say Squonk or DOAV.
Other than that...I agree with whoever said an early Bowie tune...I would choose Cygnet Committee, Quicksand, or if he wanted to go a bit more commercial with it maybe Life on Mars?
I think it would also be cool if he covered some of the newer prog bands, maybe not the ones directly Genesis-inspired though, like K2, The Watch, etc. but maybe some TFK, some PT, some Tangent or Rocket Scientists.  Finally, I wouldn't mind hearing PG cover a VDGG or PH song. T'would be interesting.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Nah, y'all are too obvious.
Here goes ...
Bruce Cockburn - Call it Democracy
Angel City ( or the Angels as they're know in Australia) - Face the Day
Steve Earle - Johnny Walker's Blues
Rush - Closer to the Heart
Bob Dylan - Masters of War
Pearl Jam - Old Woman behind the Counter
Devo - Freedom of Choice
Blue Rodeo - The Ballad of the Dime Store Greaser and the Blonde Mona Lisa
Motorhead - 1916
Klaatu - Hope (heck, he should re-do the entire album)
Gentle Giant - I Lost my Head
the Clash - Wrong 'Em Boyo
U2 - MLK
and finally - Genesis - either That's All or Abacab (no, really)

Glad I'm not one of Peter's vocal cords on that one, but a great track from a great period of a great band. Wink

I think this might be something for PG:

He could take a bunch of songs from female singer-songwriters and interpret them from a male point-of-view , as Tori Amos did on Strange Little Girls (the other way around, of course),

Quite a challenge, I would imagine. Cheeky too.

Rain Dogs - Tom Waits

I think that would turn out well.

I asked for Boris the Spider from The Who, think it will sound good and actually fits Perter gabriel very well.

I was having a real hard time with this until I started thinking about the Tori Amos album of covers, Strange Little Girls, and pretty much everyone she did would make for a good cover by Peter.  Of course I'd really just prefer a new album of originals.

When I first read this thread I read it as ideas for album covers, and I was thinking I haven't seen any new Roger Deans lately.  Maybe Dean could do a cover for his album of covers. Big%20smile

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
