I've always thought George had the most all around talent so he gets my vote

McCartney. McCartney, McCartney.
When are people going to see past the history and listen to the music again?
Lennon was a magnificent songwiter in his own right, but the real genius in this group was one P McCartney. Stylistically, he tackled anything he put his mind to and came out on top. Let's just point out that I'm talking about his Beatle years here. Too many people seem to be obsessed with wht happened afterwards and the fact that Lennon was murdered turned him into an untouchable icon. Lyrically, Lennon beat the crap out of everyone except Dylan in those days, but musically it was Macca that was the man.
End of.

If we are talking personality instead of musical talent, Ringo.
If we are talking about musical talent, then Paul.

George, unfairly underrated (rarely use this word but it fits here as a glove), great composer, superb musician and seemed to be the kindest guy in the band.

George M was brilliant and is too often forgotten as having impacted their music.

Paul didn't help the situation towards the end of the Beatles life. He became quite a control freak, but I wouldn't say he broke up the band. Just as Ono didn't.

Ram and McCartney weren't bad albums. They weren't great, but there were enough well done songs on those albums. Everything after them was pretty....sh*te.

Hmm...
John for songwriting.
Paul for singing.
George for guitar playing.
Ringo for um....... drumming?
Its hard not to vote for Paul, he wrote some amazing songs and he's an awesome bass player. George too wrote some truly great songs.
But I gotta go with who I feel is the best songwriter, John, also he's had the best post Beatles career.

Ah! Finally someone with common sense .......so tired of this McCartney bashing throughout the years...Sure he hasn't produced only masterpieces, but Lennon didn't either but seems always to get a free pass |
Yes, Paul McCartney seems to be the Phil Collins of the Beatles. He can't do right, now can he? Luckily for him not many people blame him for breaking up The Beatles. I think it's Yoko Ono who is blamed the most for that.
But well, as it comes to the music (because that's what I want to focus on) I would like to vote for Paul. Surely, sometimes you can miss some depth in his music, but he made many, many great melodies and he is a great musician. |
Now i am going to have my ;;guilty pleasure.....going to listen to RAM. ...a great, great album |
Now that's what I call a good plan .

True story: when I was a kid some radio station had a contest where you could win a piece of the shirt one of the Beatles wore during their (I think) 1966 tour. Ya had to pick your favorite Beatle. I chose Lennon, and actually won a piece of the shirt (yeah, right). So it was Lennon then and it's Lennon now.

I accidentally read a biography of George and he came off like an instinct-driven idiot ;P maybe the author had an agenda but if anything in there was a fact then it's the same. voting for Ringo, he has irony appeal
