I'll do a top 5 as I cannot narrow this down.
Prog:
1. Faust 2. Tool 3. Boredoms 4. Magma 5. Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Non-Prog: (this is very hard to choose as there are so many other genres).
1. Birchville Cat Motel (drone/psych noise) 2. Kevin Drumm (noise) 3. Summoning (epic BM) 4. Burzum (BM) 5. Borhen and der Club of Gore (funeral jazz)

Thank you very much. Yea SOAD is pretty personal, because I grew up listening to them, they were the first ones to show me that music can be anti-something. I was obsessed with them for about 5 or 6 years before during high school. I really can't listen to the with the same ears, since I've discovered so much since then. Prog has spoiled me.
And Rammstein........ is just Rammstein. Completely blew me away as a teen. Everything is just so powerful, theatrical, dramatic with them. And the German was never really an issue with me.

Please, do you see my sig?
I am a pro at other languages (not realy), it's not the German, IT'S THE HATE OF AMERICA!!! |
Ah, I see. I don't hate America, but I love that song. I forgot to mention this, kinda ironic/funny: When the White Stripes released "Stand Behind Me Satan", I had never really explored progressive music... I HATED it. It was too "prog" for me! As a fan, I just wanted to hear some bad a$$ guitar riffs from Jack White, I didn't have time for xylophones and other crap! I sold it back the next day. That was the summer a couple of years ago, and now, with my new "prog" ears, I can honestly appreciate it. (I bought a copy.... again).

Genesis - Arena sounds interesting. Is it that band where Arena members are inserted into Genesis members? |
I don't think its our business where Arena inserts their members.
|
No. You guys are reading it wrong. It's Genesis minus Arena, which gives us Journey, I think.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Ok then. Anyway, Arena sort of admire Genesis, so I guess it's ok. As long as it is an act of love.
