One with a reed and a bunch of keys. 

I think the best thing to do with sax is start in alto and then more to other keys when you get nice 'n' comfy with the thing.

I've been playing guitar for about 4 years, and have been itching to start a new instrument. I'm thinking about a soprano sax, but can anyone else tell me a good, non-string instrument to start playing?
