Hmm.
There's a lot I could say because I LOVE 'Tommy' and '666' but I must warn you that not all I'll reccommend here is prog:
1) Curved Air 'Second Album' =Clap
Female vocalist and great violinist and excellent piano ('nuff said for guitars and drumming) but fairly good catchy and short tracks, but at the same token, it can be a *little* too poppy for your taste. However, 'Young mother' and the last track...that i can't remember off the top of my head...are gorgeous. Musicianship AND singing-wise.

2) Jethro Tull 'Stand Up'= Approve
You probably already know about this. But the tracks are short and it is GOOD. Pardon my sudden lack of eloquence in describing it. It's atmosphere is darker than 'Songs of the Wood' and lighter than 'Aqualung'...which is my favourite J.T album but the tracks are too drawn out for this topic.

3) Porcupine Tree 'in absentia'= Tongue Brilliant album. Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant and 'Gravity Eyelids' is the song of my life.
50 tonne angel falls to the earth...

has anybody heard of anything similar in style to "666" or say, "Another Green World"? I love the shortness of the tracks, their diversity, and ultimately, their greatness.....

i tried Eno's "Music For Films" series...but was disapointed and own most early stuff, Ambient series, and Apollo

does he have anything else worthwhile, or anything similar in style to The Big Ship or Spider And I?

Thanks a lot for any recommendations and responses...greatly appreciated

Magnetophone could sound friendly to those who feel close to mr. Eno's music. There must be another way to say this...

In my town, there is a raincoat under a tree
In the sky there is a cloud containing the sea
In the sea there is a whale without any eyes
In the whale there is a man without his raincoat.
