Nice shirt in the last pic!

Unfortunately my soundcard crapped out on me, so it'll be two weeks until i have sound coming from my computer again

I can't wait to hear it though.

You guys look like a cool group. Best of luck in the future.

Song number three is more like it, I like the twist at 1 minute, and
wow, just went into  the 1.20 part, that's a nice twist as well. I
do hear some unfinished compositions there, you are not yet totally
proggy You do seem to have a nice and tight drummer, kudos on that. Is it me or is this song just a mix of different music types?

WOW nice drum solo! He's fast and knows when to alter his hits!

The third part is quite alike the first, not really proggy except for
the changing of the theme. Which seems to me more like changing style
than anything else.

END VERDICT:

You guys are allright in changing the theme. What you need to do is
improve the compositions within the themes itself, it all sounds a
little too basic to me. Also, watch what you call yourselves, you said
fusion/prog, but all I hear is Art Rock, which does place you in a
weaker prog position. And keep that drummer

Well, they aren't all of our songs, we have more, they're just not recorded yet.

We have a new song called "Mr. Roark building a house of stone" and it is quite progressive. It has lots of modulations between things like 5/4, 4/4, 7/4, and stuff like that. Even though that'll be on the cd, I'll post it on here when we record it in a month or so since you guys can't buy it .

The first 2 songs are kinda shaky, cuz we were super nervous, but the last 2, we got more comfortable.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention, about the "Unfinishedness" that you were talking about, I forgot to point out that they aren't the full songs. We only had 15 minutes to play 4 original songs, and if we were to play them all in full, it would have came to around 25. And that would have cause us to lose points, so we shortened the first 2 songs to like 1 or 2 minutes, then we put the last 2 songs into a medley with a drum solo thrown in, so they are all not the full compositions. When we record them we'll do em in full.

Check over the link, PB. I'll try again later. Looking forward to hearing it

Good luck with the guy from Universal!

Yo!!! I got mp3s back from the Sound-off Cape Breton Battle of the Bands that my Band competed in!! We only won 2nd place, next to a punk band ( ). But still, a guy from universal studios gave me his card and told me to send him the demo when we finish it, cuz he's interested! We won 10-hours of recording time at a place called coda recording studios, and it was only supposed to be one track, but the guy that records us called and said we can record 3 if we get them tight enough by the time we get in there. Then we're going to record more tracks in a friend of mines recording studio, and make a cd.

This is Jetavana Groove, and we play progressive rock/fusion instrumentals. These are all original songs, and were recorded live. The first 2 are more jazz fusiony, and the other two (which are on the same track) are proggy.

PLEASE listen to them and tell me what you think. I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'll post some pics of us later, im going to jam now
.

(ps, im the bass player, and im the one that speaks into the mic awkwardly. )
